One of the benefits from Jaime and Brienne sort of being stuck with each other for most of his ASOS arc is that you can really see things shifting between them. From Jaime trying to study her so he can hopefully fight her and free himself, to him slowly getting to know her to the point he can predict how she would react in a situation, from him being angry for being a prisoner over a year and sick of her judgement to genuinely trying to start a conversation, from some thoughts going from "I" to "we" as if they're allies or maybe even friends, from thinking about killing her to helping her (and risking his own life in the process), from calling her wench to calling her Brienne, and her too, from ignoring his attempts at a conversation to being the one who takes iniative herself, from despising him to liking him enough to try to comfort him at one of his most vulnerable moments, from not caring if he dies to taking care of him when can't/won't do it by himself, from calling him kingslayer to referring to him as Jaime... Since it's mostly just the two of them together, those little changes are way more noticeable and I love seeing how things gradually evolve between the two. I'm not even close to the end of the book and, still, the development is undeniable.
“Ned had named that murder; Robert called it war.” (agot 93)
“In war you kill your enemies. Didn’t your father teach you that, boy?” (asos 227)
the IRONY of lord karstark referencing ned to justify the murder of “enemy” children during wartime—not knowing that ned and robert had the same fight over the targaryen children. both ned and robb stand over the bodies of these dead “enemy” children and name it murder, even though the killers are their own allies.
“When he had protested that the young prince and princess were no more than babes, his new-made king had replied, ‘I see no babes. Only dragonspawn.’” (agot 93)
“They were captives, locked in a cell, asleep, unarmed . . . boys. Look at them!” (asos 227)
robb stark, you are truly your father’s son.
Jaime deciding to become more involved in Tommen’s life is so funny because his three instincts are:
• teach this 8 year old to learn how to dissociate from unimaginable trauma
• plan to separate Tommen from his mother and fill the small council with allies of his own which should be easy because he knows Tommen’s favourite hobby (stamping his royal seal into hot wax)
• scrap all this and run to the Riverlands with Brienne. sorry Tommen
shdihahdjdhwjsjaj what is his problem (so many actually)
if i had to guess, adhd tbh
Sansa and Lady by haniutek
ASOS, Jaime I / “The Punishment” by Silvina Ocampo (trans. Daniel Balderston)
cersei doesn't really see jaime as his own person. she sees him as an extension of herself. he is her sword arm. the man she wishes she had been born as. they started their lives being so similar that even their father couldn't tell them apart, and then he got to become a knight and the heir of casterly rock, and she was kept under tywin's thumb and then sold to robert for tywin's ambitions.
I dreamt of a maid at a feast with purple serpents in her hair, venom dripping from their fangs. And later I dreamt that maid again, slaying a savage giant in a castle built of snow…
Sansa Stark is my favourite character from “A Song of Ice and Fire” by George Martin, and I will never forgive “Game of Thrones” screenwriters and directors for the huge f*cking mess they are making.
Still, I’m very exited about next season.

There’s something so tragic about Cersei hating Robert (rightfully so) but becoming him all the same.
She hates ruling but loves the power it gives her over others. She drinks heavily. Abuses those around her. She fantasizes about a life with Rhaegar a man she never knew and never loved in the same way that Robert obsessed over Lyanna. She becomes someone that even Tommen (her son whom she loves dearly) fears. It mirrors the ways in which Robert abused Joffrey, but she hurts Tommen emotionally as opposed to physically.
All her life she wanted to be Jaime but instead she becomes the man she despised.
a collection of wolves, not doing well
read him to filth and topped it all off with a mean gay little apology. renly it doesn't even matter that you're going to die next chapter, because you will ALWAYS be famous.
