He's blaming the plane crash on DEI. More specifically, on people hired for ATC that have disabilities. "Hearing, vision, missing extremities, partial paralysis, complete paralysis, epilepsy, severe intellectual disability, psychiatric disability and dwarfism, all qualify for the position of 'a controller of airplanes.'"
I have a feeling we're about to see more disabled people than ever out of work, whether due to being "unhireable" or fired. I have a feeling we're about to see more deaths of disabled people than we have in the past ten years. And I'm not too sure what we should even do about this. But we need to continue to stay vigilant, stay informed, and keep each other close. We've always been one of the easiest groups to disenfranchise and we need to stick close with other groups that share our vulnerability. Stick close with our latine brothers and sisters, our trans brothers and sisters, our indigenous brothers and sisters, and everyone else I'm leaving out right now. It's vital we understand that he's not going after these groups one by one, but doing something every day to make all of our lives worse. It's vital to understand that he wants us, all of us, scared or unable to leave our homes. Homeless. Unable to vote. Unable to be heard. Dead. And it's even more vital to ensure he doesn't get what he wants.

Hello, I am etaf, a Palestinian living now in Egypt with my family after we managed to escape from Gaza when all our property was destroyed, and we returned from scratch in this life. When we escaped to Egypt, we did not think of anything other than feeling safe from the fear we were facing in Gaza, but unfortunately I did not expect that life would become this difficult, after we left with nothing, no home, no money, no clothes, no family, we are facing something beyond human imagination. When I ask for help, I cry a lot because we are not used to that. We used to live in beautiful palaces, have a job, and a beautiful life, and now we have become nothing!💔
Our source of income was destroyed and the new merchandise was burned. 💔
We are now facing daily challenges to survive—things that most people take for granted, 💔 Lost Stability: The war has left us without work or a stable source of income. 🍞 Basic Needs: Food and Children's needs, rent, education, and other basic living requirements. are becoming harder to afford with rising prices .

given that it's both black history month and Transgender Hell Era i recommend people go read about frances thompson, the first black trans woman to testify before Congress. her bravery and defiance in the fact of targeted government oppression is so admirable, as is the love from her community. she transitioned while enslaved and lived her entire life as a woman, more or less openly trans. she was outed and jailed by police who had always been aware she was trans entirely because her testimony of being raped by anti-black rioters was inconvenient for Congress and they needed an excuse to ignore her. and yet she never wavered in her conviction of her womanhood. when a reporter questioned her on why she wore dresses, she told him "none of your damn business." she died young but she was cared for by her community to the end. it's both an interesting look at how people historically engaged with trans people (even the West has a more complicated relationship with gender & sex than transphobes want to admit) and like. idk. her going through everything she went through and still being like fuck you. i know exactly what you are doing and it's bullshit. i am what i've always been and you are cowards relying on hatred to maintain power. and no matter what i'm not legitimizing your bullshit. i love you frances thompson
