feverish sam who is too sleepy to resist being laid down on a nice soft bed and too confused to not take comfort in the reassurances being whispered in his ear and too sluggish and hot to want the hands to stop stripping him down and touching him because it feels so good
if you stop to think about it, destiel’s shipwreck is really in the little things
like, how would they all ride in the car? Shotgun is Sam’s Space (passenger princess that he is) so would Dean make his actual boyfriend sit in the back?? I doubt Sam would even fit in the backseat 😂 and it makes no sense to do that because Dean would never put him there in the first place. imagine you’re dating some guy and you have to go somewhere with his brother and he drives and his brother sits up front and you have to sit in the backseat all by yourself. absolutely wild shit
anyway Wincest is canon—
I don't remember which episode it was, but it was when Cas wanted to start hunting with them, and he "called shotgun" with this little smile and Sam and Dean BOTH said "no!" and Sam actually shoulder clipped him rushing him to the door. Sam himself is possessive of his shotgun seat position.
I'm actually trying to remember a time Sam was in the Impala's backseat (other than Bobby's injury, sleeping, and sex) and I can't think of one.
Hunteri Heroici:
then
I gave him what he needed. And it wasn’t some bitch in a G-string. It was you. A little brother that looked up to him, that he could trust. And now he loves me. He’d do anything for me. And I gotta tell you, Sam, that kind of devotion? I mean, watching someone kill for you? It’s the best feeling in the world.
guys I know we have a mental breakdown over sex and violence twice a week but I just watched it again and. I still can't believe they shot and aired this. it's insane
Dean and Crowley’s Summer of Love :(
re: benny and amelia for the 100th time because this is one of the most egregiously misunderstood arcs in the show
the reason dean is seemingly-hypocritically (actually hypocritical from sam’s POV, but perfectly consistent with the show’s internal logic) upset at sam for “abandoning [him] for a girl” while he is Shirking his own duties as a hunter and as sam’s partner to tend to benny’s needs as a vampire is because Brothers In Arms outranks Marriage Of Convenience With Woman, and because dean always outranks sam. like, people read dean and benny’s canon relationship as queer, and don’t get me wrong I enjoy viewing them through that lens as well, but as usual the original text is almost entirely built on misogynistic ideas and - for dean far more definitively than sam - military masculinity. dean was on the battlefield (purgatory with benny) while sam was playing house (recovering from burnout with fellow grieving widow amelia) so the deluge of scorn and resentment - far more canon-accurate descriptors of dean’s feelings about sam’s relationship with amelia than “jealousy” - that dean started unleashing on sam the very instant he Returned From The War to pull sam out of his fantasy world where the fight could be over for him, makes perfect sense.
and it feels like I’ve talked about sam’s perspective throughout s8 ad nauseam so I will just reiterate that dean had hammered The Hunter’s Guide To Good And Evil into sam’s own body back in s4-s6 so how exactly do you think sam would feel to know that dean had broken those rules for benny when he would never break them for sam, for whom any speck of “monstrosity” necessitated the extreme measures that would restore him to Sammy? granted I am imposing most of this onto a canon that deprioritizes sam’s perspective to honor dean’s, however even if you’re looking at just what the text tells you directly, it isn’t about “jealousy” for sam either; it’s about dean shutting him out as a result of sam’s “failures,” because dean has the power to do that to sam, but the reverse is not true.
Very endeared by these two stories about Odette x
for every scene that dean punches sam there’s an excuse from the fandom. “well he deserved it, he was talking bad about their family”, “he deserved it, he wouldn’t listen”
however in this scene it’s different. sure people are still going to say “but he was soulless it didn’t matter” or that dean had every right to be mad, sure he did, but he didn’t just hit him once or twice, he beat him to the ground. he wasn’t just trying to knock him out, he beat him past the point of bleeding, and i’m tired of people saying this wasn’t abusive behaviour. this is NOT normal sibling behaviour it’s abuse. i can never not wonder how he was able to look the person he cared about most in the eyes asking for help, only to do that. a lack of soul doesn’t make it any less sickening and sad.
people who say sam was the one with anger issues are fucking insane.
