MAFA WRITING/EDITING COMMISSIONS 💯💯

I could use a little bit more income to pay for bus fares and emergencies, as I currently am pretty much living paycheck to paycheck, so I figured I should open writing commissions :)

dm me if you're interested!

  • rate = $0.07/word
  • 500 word drabbles = $20
  • after the first 500 words, the 7 cent/word rate will be applied for the rest of the words
  • editing work = $20/chapter or short story

I'm good at character studies, short blurb descriptions (such as character profiles, blurbs when interacting with objects in adventure games and rpgs), dialogues and technical/academic writing. I can also do PT-BR//ENG translations.

As for editing, I am good at spellchecking, checking the flow and pacing of a story, and I have an eye for being pedantic and asking the questions that help locate plot holes and other things that make people say mean things to you.

You can see some of my (fandom) work [here] and [here].

Check READ MORE for do's and don'ts, and payment information :)

i hate being east of the cascades. What if the yellowstone supervolcano erupts? no protection :/

You get to do what we were taught in school growing up here. Hide under your desk, it'll *totally* protect you from the force of the blast!

what american folk lore says cicadas protect you from volcanoes ?

babygirl are you sure you read this right?

i may be eepy...what are the cascades?

The big mountain range that bisects the west coast states and provinces.

you mean the fucking rocky mountains?

the rockies bisect the western united states, not the west coast states.

(admittedly this map is incomplete, the lower half of the cascades is typically referred to as the sierra nevadas, and the olympics continues down right along the coast to become the coastal range in southern oregon and northern california)

The Cascades are also active volcanoes, so I don't know how much "protection" they would be...

not gonna lie, i've had a lot of bad reading comprehension in my time on tumblr, but this post is the first time i've been genuinely dumbfounded by the amount of misunderstanding in a post that's not even two full lines long.

  1. this post is about the cascade mountain range
  2. this post is about the yellowstone supervolcano
  3. mount saint helens is not the same as the yellowstone supervolcano
  4. the other cascades volcanos are not the same as the yellowstone supervolcano
  5. none of the cascades are considered a supervolcano
  6. the cascades are not the same as the rockies
  7. the west coast states are not the same as the western united states
  8. mount saint helens is on the west side of the cascades but is still a part of the cascades
  9. british colombia is not a part of washington or oregon
  10. a supervolcano is bigger then a volcano
  11. the eruption of the yellowstone supervolcano would not somehow trigger eruptions in the cascade range 500 miles away
  12. most analyses you'll read of "what would happen if the yellowstone supervolcano erupted" agree that most of the heavier ash cloud would not make it past the cascades, so yes, they offer quite a lot of protection
  13. the ash that clouds out the sky is a different concern from the ash that falls on rooftops and makes buildings collapse
  14. the cascades are not cicadas (i love you virtualgirladv this one is just funny af and i have to include it)

9 am meeting with a board of directors consisting entirely of five-year-olds

john green didn’t “deserve” the way that early ‘10s tumblr treated him technically, but I feel like the discussion around whether he “deserved” it or not is completely missing the point. he was an adult in a space that was largely recreationally used by teenagers. why would he not get the substitute teacher treatment. what else did you think would occur here.

Early ‘10s tumblr was the indie porn capital of the internet. Tumblr porn reshaped and democratized the internet porn landscape at the height of the sex positivity movement. There is literally a book about this:

Now if you’re wondering why I felt the sudden need to dredge up this post from 2022, it’s because of a couple other posts I won’t go into now that reminded me of it.

This post is a prime example of how casually and insidiously we can re-write history. When the OP made this post so many people in the notes nodded along, acting as though it were an obvious, incontrovertible truth that Tumblr in the late aughts/early ‘10s was a wholesome safe space for children, and it was therefore normal and natural in the tumblr culture of that time to treat adults as unwelcome interlopers.

But that’s not an obvious, incontrovertible truth.

It’s a complete rewriting of history.

It’s a brazen, boldfaced lie.

Or it would be, if I thought OP were lying intentionally. But actually I don’t thing they were. I think this might actually be how OP (mis)remembers tumblr. OP painted a pastel colored soft focus filter over their childhood memories without even realizing that’s what they were doing. And it’s fine if the way you like to remember something is different from the way it actually happened. But it stops being fine when you start using your fabricated whitewashed sanitized memories as “evidence” when crafting an argument, thinking no one will bother to fact check you.

I’m bothering.

Tumblr was an adult space from its inception. Teens were never tumblr’s primary or target demographic at any point in its existence.

Tumblr’s primary audience was teenagers, who behaved like teenagers. That’s it. Anything else about this being sanitized is something you imagined. Tumblr was a high school cafeteria, and there is nothing pastel soft focus about that.

tumblr in the john green age was mostly highschoolers, in fact it was so full of teenagers that it had a perennial problem with child porn in part because these very horny underage teens kept posting naked pictures of themselves on this website. I mean, basically every long time user on this website started their blog while they were minors! source: I was there as one of the horny underage teen bloggers.

And john green was clearly trying to connect with the teens here, because they were the intended audience of his fucking novels. he didn’t come here to hang out with adult sex workers

what a bizarre hill to be sanctimonious on.

So the point here is less about the exact fraction of teenagers to adults and more to point out that this wasn’t purely a kids playpen at the McDonalds and thus John Green being here wasn’t inherently questionable. John Green trying to have a blog for his target demographic didn’t mean he should “deserve to get the substitute teacher treatment”, if that means anything besides “I can say whatever I want about him and you can’t point out that’s cruel”

in the 2010s tumblr was spoken about in news articles in the same breath as twitter and facebook. mainstream political parties, documentary series, movies, etc, had official tumblr accounts. An author having an account here was equivalent to an author having a twitter account, i.e. completely normal.

There was a while where all of the Labour Party’s press releases were hosted via Tumblr

Also if you’re editing your substitute teacher’s statements to make it look like he’s telling the class how much he likes cock and doxxing him to the point where he stops working at your school because you’ve made him scared for the actual physical safety of his family, you should be expelled.

“I and the types of people i followed in the early 2010s were minors” is not, in fact, evidence for the wider tumblr userbase. that’s a nonsense position to have. of COURSE a lot of people you saw were your age, because you were following people you related to. i doubt a ton of kids back then were like, really into following those labour party press releases. (and frankly, posting your age in your bio was less common back then, and human nature means we all kinda fill in that blank with ‘my age, probably.’)

One thing you need to know about English is we don’t give a FUCK about the hard letter “T” unless it’s the first shit or the last shit we see in a syllable. Look: Caddle ranch. Putado chips. Conservation. Anthony. I don’o. Cach the bus. Ged addit. Hard “T” is lucky to get noticed in the middle even half the time, and if it’s after an S you can forget about it. Cassel. Lissen. Wesdern. Neglected middle child ass consonant

My "100% Australian wool" is "made in China". They shipped this stuff halfway around the world, spun it, dyed it, then shipped it back. Every time I see shit like this I'm reminded of how absurd it is that worldwide wage inequality makes this the most cost effective solution.

Real life is a clown show

it’s the cheapest 100% wool on the market. your ass got wetherwaxed.

Okay yeah that's fair

I will add on to this:

In Spain, the origin place of Merino sheep, where once Merino wool made people rich and was famous and valued all around Europe, wool is now considered produce waste.

Dirty fleece is produce waste. Clean fleece is wool. And the process between the two is a mystery. And if you want to process it for something other than textile (that can still be achieved with very little industry), you need special permits because it is considered trash.

Shearing the sheep costs about 2€ per sheep. 1 kg of dirty fleece costs less than 1€ (1 sheep produces about 2 kg of fleece). So shearing is an expensive cost for people who have cattle because selling the wool does not even cover the shearing. Many don't even use it for compost. Shearers don't bother learning how to shear it for textile because nobody uses it.

You could work with it yourself then, couldn't you? Except there are no places to wash it or process it. Since the industry is completely broken and fucked up, I think there are 3 active wool washing places in all of Spain. There was one near my region but it closed a couple of years ago forcing local people who do work with wool to go to Portugal. The one in Portugal that was nearby is closing as well.

If you want to buy wool to knit, you have to go out of your way to find the couple of small producers who work directly with some cattle owners and who may have their own small scale industry to wash it because it's not easy to find and it's certainly not as cheap as just buying whatever you can find in a crafts' shop.

So we have excellent sheep producing excellent quality wool that is not even used for compost and if you want to knit with natural wool, you will end up buying Australian wool.

I cannot properly express my love for the fact that Susie heard "Darkners are objects" and decided to start treating the objects as the darkners, referring to the TV as Tenna and the Halloween mannequin as Jack. like genuinely such an incredible thing to add to her character.
