Heya! Just wondering where you got that volume from The Library of Babel? It looks awesome and I'd love to get a version!

hi! my book is one of 40 volumes made by christian bök as part of an art piece several years ago and unfortunately there won't be another printing.

my suggestion if you want a book from the website would be to find the volume you want and save it, then format it into the 80 character, 40 line, 410 page format described in Jorge Luis Borges' original work, and then use a print on demand service (last time I checked barns and noble charges around 20usd for a book matching those specifications)

There are also print shops that will do one off proofs if you want something more unique and solid but they do not run cheap so they're out of reach for most folks.

I shove you inside The Machine and slam the door shut

I begin to activate it, pressing buttons, adjusting settings. as it thrums to life, I step back

you feel hot, an intense tingling all over your body. you close your eyes tight, waiting for it to be over

it feels like every cell in your body is on fire, although it isnt agonizing, mostly. it's almost pleasant. euphoric, even.

the machine begins to hum louder and louder. it's just short of hurting your ears. and after what feels like hours, finally

DING!

i open the door to the machine

and there you are

“your rent should be a third of your income” well wouldn’t that be nice. wouldn’t it. lower the rent pussy

Casual observation from someone old enough to remember: in the year 2000 financial advice was that rent should be no more than 1/4 of your income.

Until the mid 80s, the advice was that if you must rent instead of owning, then that 20% of your monthly income (oh yes, only 20%) should include all your utilities too.

After all, rent costs more than a mortgage, so it should offer more too.

The housing market is a fucking travesty.

Hmm what happened in the mid eighties....

if you use ASL in comics and go through the effort to portray it accurately: i love you
