Speaking to you Inside your Mind

I'm not a woman, I'm not a man, I'm just a normal person. They/them. I believe the use of AI to generate images is philosophically wrong. also I use Queue, so that's why reblogs might seem to happen at random.

A big talking point around Jentry Chau vs. The Underworld is the concern about it getting cancelled after the first season. Many people seem apprehensive about starting the show because they don't want to get invested in something that's going to leave them hanging. Many other people are pointing out this is a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy; people don't watch the show because they're afraid it will get cancelled, and then it gets cancelled because not enough people watched the show.

I'm going to side-step that argument and make a different one: you should watch Jentry Chau vs. The Underworld because it's still a great show even if it does get cancelled after its first season. While it would be awesome for this show to continue, what we have right now is a rather complete story that doesn't leave you hanging. It doesn't end on a cliffhanger and there aren't really any loose threads after the finale. If someone told me Jentry Chau was intended to be one season only from the beginning, I'd believe them.

I'm not saying Jentry Chau vs. The Underworld shouldn't continue. I really want it to. What I'm saying is that you're not risking as much by watching the first season now as you may think it you are. The people that made the show have voiced that they want to make more, but they clearly made the first season to stand on its own in case they can't.

So please, watch Jentry Chau vs. the Underworld. It does not need more, but I and everyone else who's watched it really want more.

"Rationalism" is up there with "Objectivism" in terms of "definitionally funny things to call your own belief system".

"Yeah man I've been doing some thinking and philosophy and I've come up with a framework called Being Right"

Calling my personal philosophy Realityism. Yeah, it's a philosophy where I'm uniquely aware of how reality works and base all my conclusions on that. If you're against it, it's because you're refusing to face reality.

Though I can't say that you're refusing to face facts, because I think that's the domain of the Factarians. Don't worry about them, though. Facts can lie to you about what's real, which is whatever I believe.

I was a hardcore Realityist but due to personal beef with the founder due to clear issues in the philosophy of Realityism we're schisming off into Correctism, which is a lot like Realityism except we're Correct about it and the optional support tiers on our forum are slightly more expensive and give you cooler looking badges.

Not only did my fried rice panel take off in a way I wasn't expecting but my POST about the fried rice panel also took off in a way I wasn't expecting please let me rest

Can I still fry the rice if it's less than 18 years old?

"Trans men and women are both suffering" and "trans women are often specifically targeted by bigotry and harassment even within their own communities and deserve to be able to talk about their own unique challenges without being talked over" and "trans men are often erased from conversations about how bigotry and transphobia targets them and are not exempt from all the horribly draconian laws transphobes are attempting to pass" and "being trans doesn't make you immune to participating in horrible transmisogyny even and especially if you aren't aware you're doing it" and "holy shit don't reinvent bioessentialism but for trans people like holy fuck men are not destined to be evil and women aren't automatically incapable of harm" are all opinions that can and fucking SHOULD coexist

ok so these new tariffs are likely going to be primarily affecting red states. i want y’all to ignore the urge to respond by saying the people in those red states deserve it because of the political representation we have. not because some of us are progressives but because this is an opportunity. if conservatives from these states start complaining about higher prices and financial strain, do not respond with “well you voted for this!” this is your opportunity to pull them to the center. say “wow that is really awful. i’m sure this isn’t what you wanted when you voted last year. you deserve representatives that will have your best interests at heart, you should let them know how upset you are! you deserve to be heard!”

because listen to me. republican politicians don’t give a shit about what progressives in red states have to say. they aren’t gonna change their voting trends for us. but if a bunch of small town conservatives start to get restless and angry with their politicians, if they lose support from their most important demographics, that has a shot at changing things. so swallow your pride and disgust and have a conversation with that republican truck driver instead of taking the pot shot that’ll get you 10 minutes of dopamine. do the hard work.

Time to roll this image out for the conservatives for once.

Make them mad that they've been made fools of, because that right there is an out. A lot of them are going to dig their heels in because if they admit that they were making shit choices then what have they been doing all this time? The sunk-cost fallacy wouldn't allow it.

But! What if they were flat out lied to? There's the excuse to back out! They didn't sign up for this, didn't know that they were voting for a liar (🙃 I know. I KNOWWW). But aren't they pissed now? At the guy who fucking SCAMMED them out of their vote?

yup. the republican party’s big pull is that they’re very good at pointing the finger at xyz minority group to blame them for the country’s ills. people like to know who to blame. conservatives especially like to know who to blame because very often they are not educated enough to understand what the actual problems are, because conservative politicians do not prioritize education.

so with the trump administration doing such a phenomenally horrible job at everything, now is the time to give those conservatives a group to blame. gas prices skyrocketing? trump isn’t following through on his promise to lower gas prices and i’m pretty sure those tariffs he imposed are why! groceries getting way too expensive? trump promised to make them cheaper but he’s doing the opposite!

if their options are imploding with embarrassment and having their entire worldview fall apart or ignoring reality, they’ll choose ignoring reality. if they have a third option of getting mad and blaming someone, that is the one they have been trained to choose. use that.

Guys. This works.

I live in the fucking Bible Belt. This place is so atrociously red that I am the weirdest person that most of the people I know have ever met.

I’m not even the weirdest person I’ve ever met. But we are few and far between.

And I’m telling you, they are angry about the same exact things we are. They just have a different narrative.

Now, FINALLY, we are coming to a point where there won’t be anyone else to blame properly EXCEPT the people in power.

And nothing, NOTHING, makes these guys listen closer than when you point out it was their special guy who did this to begin with and doesn’t that make you angry? This fucker lied to us!

Us. Not you. Us.

Because they did lie to us even if some of us didn’t buy it.

Make it us, the truck driver and the other guy next to him in the Kroger, against the evil dip shits in power.

That’s how they work.

Make them identify with YOU.

You may look different and like weird books instead of football and have a rainbow pin, but you’re here, in their community, dealing with the same grocery prices.

Make them see that.

And then point them in the right direction.

“Fucked up that the (insert policy) seems to be backfiring. I feel lied too. You?”

Also like, even if this fails 99% of the time, that 1% is enough to swing multiple states. So the question to ask yourself is "do I want to improve the country or to I want to feel righteous while I yell at people?"

my little brother tried to show me a "cool trick" where he entered my name and hometown into chatgpt and tried to get it to pull up my personal info like it did on all of his friends, then was absolutely shocked when it couldn't find anything on me

so. keep practicing basic internet safety, guys. it still works. don't put your personal info on social media, keep all your accounts on private, turn off ai scraping on every site that you can, enable all privacy features on social media apps. our info still can be protected, we have to keep fighting for control

Hey y'all in the notes, typing your personal info into google/chatGPT to "check" whether its been leaked online somewhere counts as leaking it online somewhere, hope this helps!

*gripping my hands so hard on a young trans persons shoulders that their bones are about to break*

do not log on to 4chan.com. do not get involved in passing olympics. you will always lose. do not put afab/amab/tma/tme, that is cisgender society trying to know your “real” gender. you do not exist to please cisgender people. there is no ‘right’ way to be trans. learn your goddamn history, listen to your elders. listen to other disenfranchised groups. listen to intersex people and check yourself for intersexism. listen to trans poc and check yourself for racism. listen to disabled people and check yourself for ableism. be open to learning always. labels are meant to fit you, not the other way around. you are not weird or predatory for simply being attracted to others. you’re fine if you’re not a skinny white twink or a barbie doll. you’re fine if your body is ‘weird’. you’re fine if you don’t have heavy or any dysphoria. it’s okay if you actually don’t want to transition or anything like that. life is worth living at any stage, you deserve to be happy. I SWEAR THAT YOU ARE OKAY!!!!!

i agree with all of this and agree that putting this stuff in your bio is generally unnecessary, but tma/tme are terms made by transfems/trans women to talk about experiences with transmisogyny.

tme refers to cis men, cis women, trans men, transmascs, and other trans/nonbinary people otherwise-not-transfem, aka the people who are not the primary/directed targets of transmisogyny (except for misdirected bigotry due to being mistaken for a trans woman/transfem)

its not a cis attempt to know your "real" gender unless the two "real" genders are transfem/trans woman and Everyone Else

In the interest of also being non-combative and informative, that is a deeply flawed framework of how bigotry, suppression, and oppression operate. The terms TMA/TME also don't actually align with the way Julia Serano — the woman who coined and originally defined the term transmisogyny — has defined transmisogyny over the years. Ultimately the terms really just seek to define groups of people out of very real bigotry and danger that they also experience and diminish their experiences.

Serano's original articulation of transmisogyny in Whipping Girl isn't always very clear about this because the book, in Serano's own words, is the position of one trans woman at one point in time and is filled with personal anecdotes that she would remove had she known the book and her terminology would have taken off like it has.

However, she has gone on the record several times over the last two decades to clarify that transmisogyny as a term is meant to describe the experiences of anyone who sits at an intersection of femininity/feminine expression and real or socially perceived male identity. She has stated many times that drag queens, crossdressers / transvestites (yes people still do use that term for themselves), GNC men cis or trans, intersex people, women of color who experience the racialization of the genders, etc. are also all direct targets of transmisogyny that are not any "less than" trans women.

You cannot experience a "misdirected" form of bigotry when you are included in the process of identifying and articulating that form of bigotry. You cannot be exempt from a form of bigotry when the language meant to identify that bigotry explicitly seeks to give you a voice for your experiences as well.

Anyone who tries to diminish the experiences those groups of people have with transmisogyny by saying it's just "misdirected" and that they're actually exempt as targets of transmisogyny because they're not trans women, is explicitly denying the work of the trans woman who gave them the language they are misusing in the first place.

And just generally - a bigot attempting to harm a marginalized person does not care if they are "correct" in their bigotry. A bigot, someone actively seeking to harm, subjugate, or eradicate, marginalized people generally wants to hit as many targets as possible, not refine their bigotry. As such, the language we use to discuss their bigotry cannot be narrow. This is a concept that is commonly accepted in many racial justice coalitions and in Black Feminist works. Julia Serano was inspired by Black Feminist authors like Audre Lorde and bell hooks when she wrote Whipping Girl. As such, I think we should be applying that understanding to the concept of transmisogyny as well.

It does us no good and serves us no function to create terminology that divides us, especially when it is made from of language that very explicitly wasn't meant to.
