Star trek, MLB and so much more. non-binary ace. they/them💜 (header created as a Christmas present from Fluffy, who doesn't have a tumblr.😍 Icon pic by @agressive-princess Thank you babes!!!)

So I was experimenting with my writing on here, well I have started a Ko-Fi for it! I'm slowly getting little summaries posted so I can start putting up parts of my writing. Please check it out and donate/subscribe to read! I'm gonna get tier stuff sorted soon but I'm working slowly

It's so nice being on tumblr because you don't even have to make your own post but people would still follow you anyways if you're good at rebloging posts they like

I tap the mic. “Most people don’t want to crawl down your chimney and steal your dog.”

the crowd murmurs uncertainly.

“If someone wants to steal your dog,” I continue, “there are easier ways to do that. They don’t have to crawl into a chimney.”

Murmuring intensifies. People stand in their seats and begin to boo.

“People disguising themselves as chimney sweepers and stealing dogs is not a rational fear,” I shout. “Literally anyone could steal your dog. Why make sweeping chimneys illegal?”

“I have a list of chimney sweeps who stole dogs from parks!” Someone yells, throwing a shoe.

“You seriously think no chimney sweepers could possibly ever steal from a home?” Another cries.

“Only a dog thief would even want to crawl into a chimney to begin with!” Says a third.

A single tear rolls down my cheek. They are all so fucking stupid

This is a metaphor

my little brother tried to show me a "cool trick" where he entered my name and hometown into chatgpt and tried to get it to pull up my personal info like it did on all of his friends, then was absolutely shocked when it couldn't find anything on me

so. keep practicing basic internet safety, guys. it still works. don't put your personal info on social media, keep all your accounts on private, turn off ai scraping on every site that you can, enable all privacy features on social media apps. our info still can be protected, we have to keep fighting for control

To continue my adventure trying to post more of my writing to get over my crippling anxiety about everyone hating my stories, I've finished another chapter of my deeply self indulgent Star trek Voyager fan fic that completely ignores canon!

A brief summery - Micah Williams is a Lieutenant on Voyager. While surveying a star system his shuttle wanders into a plasma storm and is damaged. Before it crashes into a M-class world he manages to transport out, only to find the planet he's on is a pre-warp civilization. One of the indigenous people, Spark, saves his life and helps him escape, committing treason in the process. To repay them saving his life, Micah helps them obtain asylum on Voyager and start a new life aboard the ship.

Chapter 7 of my slow burn is on AO3 🤭

Here have a few snippets!!

straight people are so fascinating even when they aren't actively trying to be homophobic. I had a class a few years ago where one assignment was to summarize some eighth century arabic poetry about going out for drinks with the lads before indulging in some gay sex and like half the class came in and said "I'm sorry idk what was happening in this one, they mention having sex with a servant but they also say the servant's a man? where'd the woman come from? I'm so confused." and a few days ago in a shakespeare class I made a comment about how cleopatra and octavius caesar are kind of parallel characters in possessively bartering for mark antony's attention and one of my classmates responded as though I'd been talking about octavia and not caesar, despite the fact that I said "caesar" and "him" multiple times while describing the actions he specifically took. fully incapable of comprehending of anything that's even a little bit gay.

HEY, FELLOW HATERS OF INSANELY-BRIGHT CAR HEADLIGHTS, SOMEONE HAS STARTED A PETITION TO REGULATE THEM.

It's an official petition through the Australian Government's e-petition page, which means if it gets enough signatures, it will be tabled in government.

You do have to be an Australian citizen to sign it, BUT!!! PLEASE REBLOG THIS EVEN IF YOURE NOT, because these kind of things have a roll-on effect, and if Australia legislates LED headlights, then other countries may follow.

FYI, the petition asks only for your name and email, and once you've clicked the sign button, they'll send you an email to confirm your signature --- you need to click the confirmation link in the email to have your signature counted.

can’t believe i fell off the ds9 train. am watching “the house of quark” and the plot “bartender accidentally murders a client, gets involved in a complicated life insurance case and ends up married to the murder victim’s widow in a game of thrones struggle, all while being approximately 4 ft tall and with the fashion sense of an 80s diva on steroids” is just 11/10

dont mind me just thinking about the fact that some of yall genuinely believe that the only trans people in 3rd world countries are trans women and have never considered the impact of forced pregnancy, child marriage, fgm and honor killings on trans men and when people like me talk about it you do an obligatory reblog then forget 40 seconds later and start talking about how transmasc invisibility is a good thing.

I'd just like to clarify some things about Senator Cory Booker's marathon Senate speech in protest of the present administration and everything they are doing to the American people.

Senator Booker was NOT allowed to sit down, eat, or use the bathroom during his speech. Sitting or leaving the room to use the bathroom would be considered yielding the floor. Eating would have interfered with his speaking and the person who has the senate floor must continue to speak, except when listening to questions that they will then answer.

He only took occasional sips of water.

The person who previously held the record for longest speech on the Senate floor did have bathroom breaks and also did things like read from the encyclopedia.

Senator Booker did not do that. His speech was to point out the damage that this administration is doing and he stayed on that subject.

Senator Booker's speech did reach many people. It wasn't a silly stunt that was done so that he could take the record for longest speech. He wanted to show the country that democrats will do something to bring attention to the problems we are facing. That democrats are listening to them.

Senator Cory Booker spoke for 25 hours and 4 minutes to "make good trouble."
