I had made a TikTok about ideas for an Epic stage play, but in order to say everything I needed to, I needed to write out first- So with that being said, here are my (somewhat incoherent-) ideas for a stage musical adaption of Epic.

•Possibly split the musical into two performances (Act 1, Troy-underworld, Act 2, Thunder-Ithaca)

-I dunno is Jorge would want to add more dialogue, or make it a song-after-song kind of production like Hamilton, but if he wanted to add, thus would allow for more room to tell the story. The split at the Underworld saga also makes sense to me because this is the turning point of him becoming “the monster”.

•Projections!! (Arrows, Polyphemus, suitors)

-Also, how cool would it be for the animators and artists who have worked on epic to make the art for the projections??

•Polyphemus- main portion of his body is projection that covers the whole backdrop, his head/eye is above the stage, but still visibly scene (he’s a cyclops, he’s gotta be huge right?)

•Ithaca saga, “Odysseus”:

-Instead of 108 suitors, it’s played by 18 people with a projection of the rest of the suitors in the background

-Odysseus possibly up on a balcony sorta thing as he’s shooting the suitors? (The projection is the arrows being shot-)

-Highlight “you don’t think I know my own palace, I built it-“ somehow. (Spotlight up on said balcony or spotlight of him amidst all the suitors?)

-Heck even pick random people from the audience to be the background suitors, but something under the seats, I dunno-

Anyway, that’s all I have- would love to hear more ideas too!

The fire was burning within your soul

as an extension of the world you know

You used it as a means to push away

the one who cared about you every day

It took a long time to let someone break through

to realize the only person you needed to be was you

A fire once used to cause so much pain

had now become a fire that broke the chain

You were set free, able to follow your own path

And the fire you had no longer came from wrath

Best thing my grandfather ever taught me is that you’ve gotta let yourself grunt and groan when you’re doing something difficult. Makes it easier.

Next time you lift something heavy go gggrrraaaugggghhhh ugh hurf really loudly. If it’s hard to get up in the morning, moan and groan while you do it. When reaching for something you can’t quite get, go hhhrrraaauuugghhbadar about it.

Makes everything easier.

My grandpa has been disabled in one form or another since he was in his early 20s and he worked in construction until his 50s. He knows about doing hard things. Whenever I was helping him with moving things as a kid he always told me to grunt and groan real loud about it. Makes it easier, he said. And it does. It always, always does. Making a real loud noise and complaining about it always makes it better.

In addition to the psychological benefits, grunting also stops you from reflexively holding your breath when you strain your muscles. Hard work is easier when you breathe.

Relatedly, this is the reason that martial artists are always making "huah!" sounds.

That last part is true! The sounds have a purpose!

Been told by many a friend I might have ADHD, and have been thinking about that possibility for a while. But if my little late night adventure is any indicator, I think we might have a problem-

•Scrolling through Instagram

•An ad pops up about some ADHD test

•I take the test, forgetting it was an Insta link

•I had to put in my email for results but realized I didn’t want emails, so went to mine to unsubscribe

•There was no email there so I went into my internet tab (why? Maybe cause I wanted to do something? I don’t know-)

•Clears out tab of fictional character I got sidetracked talking about earlier

•Goes to tumblr to make this post because people might find this funny

So uhhhh, yeah- maybe I should get this checked out one day 😂

EPIC FANDOM LET ME IN- (if you want- but I’d like that very much)

Anyway- I’ve recently got into Epic the Musical so here are some sketcheesss. The one on the left is from the Vengeance Saga (if you know you know-) and on the right I have my designs for Telemachus and Athena. (I really tried to incorporate the owl vibes into Athena-) I hope ya’ll enjoy-
