I love when people play with the idea that Dick and Jason are bound together by a father that no longer exists. It's something only they can relate to each other on. If one of them goes down, the surviving one loses the one other person in the world who understood what it was like to have Bruce as a father before trauma flayed the skin from Bruce's bones.

Let's imagine a world where Jason's crime lord persona had been fully developed after events of "Under the Red Hood", meaning a Jason that tried to kill Bruce and was then *betrayed* by him after choosing saving the Joker.

Jason would still have that distant relationship with Dick, the "what we once were can no longer be because I know you no longer", but if he were to lose Bruce to something non related to him, something that he had no hand in, he would feel pain for the man that once was and that man, that parental figure that can be mourned, is shared with the Dick that he once knew.

So, there would be a connection and a situation that would open a door to test the waters with the man that he once called a brother and looked up to. If he does so and finally realises that he has blinded himself to whom Dick actually is, he would definitely feel a sense of "we know what we lost" and "we can build up from here".

What I am trying to say, perhaps, is that Bruce in more than one point has been indirectly an obstacle in Jason's pursuit of a relationship with his brother (dare I say, the only one he would view as such). Bruce dying to something non-related to Jason or even the superhero world would be the best way to have opposing forces like pre-2009 Jason and Dick come together and see that they would not have been as radical with each other as the other thought.

Then, angst and drama would ensue until those two stubborn little shits come to terms that they are not that different within their own morals.

I was going to make a detailed analysis on how TLOU 2 is a story about Joel even though he dies at the beginning of the game but then I decided that I don't WANT to be rational. He's a fucking BADASS who does the most INSANE shit out of pure LOVE. I LOVE HIM. HE'S MY FICTIONAL MAN. HE JUST WANTED TO PROTECT THE ONES HE LOVED. I WILL DEFEND HIM WITH MY LIFE.

Hi!! Hello

I feel like we are not getting a lot of steven as much as both marc and jake, like what motivates them and such. Having said that, what would your aproach be at developing steven both personally and in his relationship with jake and marc?

Btw, your blog is still my favorite one in all of tumblr, I look forward both to new releases and your commentary after every single one <3

Hello! And thank you so much for the ask and for hanging around! :D I am immeasurably glad that this blog is something that sparks a little joy in your life. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ–ค As for Steven, I see your point! You actually brought up something I've been mulling over deep in my brainpan for a hot minute, so (as always seems to happen when I answer asks whoops), this got a little long. There's a bit of preamble on how I came to my conclusion, but I'm pretty sure I more directly address your question in the second part, so you can just skip to there if you'd like hahaha

When I first experienced The Last of Us: Remastered, I was utterly captivated by how astonishingly realistic the graphics were. The moment Ellie appeared on screen, I was immediately enchanted by her unique personality; a charm that I found utterly endearing. Her design seemed so perfect, so integral to the game itselfโ€”she was perfect just the way she was rendered in the game, with every subtle facial expression and character quirk brought to life in vivid detail. I couldn't picture her any differently.
But then, with the arrival of TLOU: Part 1, the flames of passion for the game reignated. Through fresh, appreciative eyes, I fell head over heels in love with it all over again. Ellie once more captured my heart, her renewed appearance filling me with sense of authenticity. The remake became something special. Immersing myself in it, I no longer felt like I was merely playing a gameโ€”suddenly, the lines between fantasy and reality were blissfully blurred as the lifelike characters began to feel disturbingly realistic.

My first contact with the game was through a playthrough and it was in its original version (PS3), I loved it then, you could feel their emotions through the voice acting and that was powerful, the use of professionals made the game feel real although its graphics lacked detail.

When I came across the game again (with a different look), I came across the PS5 Remake and to that love I had felt for the characters through VA I could also now feel it through the incredible new design that also provided us with characters that showed a vibrant range of emotions on their faces. It wasn't that I didn't like their previous character designs but the new ones felt more like them, truer to their characters (if that makes any sense).

Every scene felt like I was watching it for the first time, like I got a second chance at enjoying (and living) it, now the outstanding voice acting was accompanied with the most devine graphics and it enhanced the game tremendously.

From getting to see Sarah and Joel's last moments, to Joel showing a range of emotions on his face when Tess convinces him to leave, to Ellie looking like a kid her age... The remake proves why it was necessary.

Truly an added improvement to an already legendary video game.

I want steve rogers back for selfish reasons (retconning an ending that undermined ten years of character development) but also for funny reasons such as seeing wolverine across the street in nyc and yelling LOGAN !!!!????

steve rogers in seeing a man he fought with on the front in 1943 who has somehow miraculously not aged a day: logan?? LOGAN???

logan howlett (amnesia victim) being chased down by captain america who somehow knows his name: what the fuckย

steve: if i had a nickel for every time i find an old friend from the 40s who i swear was dead, turn out to be alive. i'd have 2 nickels. it's not a lot but it's weird that this has happened TWICE

How about 3 nickels if we add a crossover? Billy Batson (Fawcett Comics character that got bought by DC), used to go into war zones as Whiz Kid during that time period.

So that would make Steve, Steve's bestie, another fellow soldier, plus that one crazy kid who somehow didn't age. More if we add the Suspendium Incident where Fawcett City got frozen in a giga big bubble for thirty years because of Dr. Sivana.

sorry to make you pissed i mean to explain why its not all bad! i explained why jason and damians relationship should make sense as brothers from talia caring for them when in the LOA because they can relate that way! im explaining why its loved when red hood lost days explains jason in the LOA and its hard and he should understand what damian lived in because of that, and they had talia as a mother to them. writers should write them in a better relationship when they remember that, and why theyre so popular as brothers is what im explaining

Jason and Damian had very different experiences. I can't see them relating to much if anything from the LOA at all, actually.

Jason had severe brain-damage while he was with Talia. We don't know how cognitively aware he was during that time. He didn't spend his time there the same way Damian did while growing up. He mentally and physically couldn't. Sure, Jason could fight in defense, but that was about it.

That went on for a year. And then Talia shoved Jason in the pit because, otherwise, Ra's would've made Jason leave. And right after shoving him in the pit, she then took Jason to the river and hurled him in the water with a survival kit. She did meet up with him after that and also gave him mentors to learn from, but otherwise, Jason was on his own.

"Mother" is a strong word when it comes to Talia's relationship with Jason. She wanted him to get better. We saw her have an emotional beat with Jason. We don't know how involved she was with Jason pre-pit otherwise. He could've mostly been left to his handlers for the majority of the time. And using Lost Days as an example of Talia's motherhood to Jason is rich considering she had sex with him.

Yeah, I was going to mention that last part because I enjoy the mark that left in whatever that relationship was, it is such an uncomfortable *thing* that it has made it incredibly difficult to classify their dynamic and I love that.

Furthermore, if we are thinking about Lobdell canon/lore, Talia left Jason with the All-Castle on secret and fairly quickly. It was such a quick decision that the LoA OR better said LoA's associates didn't even train him in the new canon (the new canon being the one that fanon uses as base to link Jason and Damian in a twisted *positive* light).

So, Jason and Damian haven't shared any sort of similar training, not in the good old days and certainly not in the new canon.

I understand fanfiction's whole thing is creating more and building and exploring but fanfiction isn't fanon and fanon is what's messing up everything, we lose every grasp of comic lore and build something that never was but we still slap a known name on it for it to matter.

Comics have different levels of...good and Jason has been a victim of less than good canon lore for years but that doesn't mean we have to act like things that never happened are real or would have made sense because there is simply no *time* or *space* for them.

ALSO and I promise this is the last thing, there is nothing to better. Relationships are intrinsically complex and sometimes just not good because that's interesting and bold. Having yet another set of found family within this mess of bats and whatevermore just makes and contributes to DC's eternal estate of bland and flavourless-ness.

Let's bring back areas of gray or completely untouchable dynamics, let's just leave things un-fixed. Let characters be flawed and incorrigible and wild.
