actually kinda awkward to reach that stage of life where you don't really have a group of friends but rather individual friends that are all over the map and with different schedules so people just assume you're somewhat friendless. and in a way you kinda are but also life just keeps happening so really what is there to do
if you want to actually start to end homelessness, you need to give homeless people unconditional homes, including when we use them to do drugs or sit around drinking. either housing is unconditional or it isn’t
someone sitting at home alone, an active alcoholic, squandering your charity, drinking all day is better situation than a street homeless alcoholic. someone using drugs in your charity house is better than them doing the same w no shelter
most of you would not like most street homeless people, I definitely don’t and didn’t when I was street homeless. for every one person who uses unconditional shelter to turn themselves around, someone else will do jack shit and very slowly, if ever, work through the issues that made them homeless, will maybe never be able to live independently. still better than street homelessness, still worth doing. ultimately either you believe that shelter should be universal or you don’t
homeless people actually can’t be rehabilitated if you want to end homelessness. we either affirm the right to shelter for the worst drunken, lying, filthy, cheating, self destructive homeless people that exist, genuinely irredeemable wankers, or we concede that shelter is not a right

Hating asexual people is the most bizarre fucking thing to do. Like there are so many things you could be hating on and I don't care how long your list of things to hate is, what the fuck is your problem that you decide to be offended by the existence of people whose whole defining thing is that they're not doing anything and have no intention nor desire to be doing it in the future, either.
It's very much tied into the hyper sexualized world that we live in. Often haters perceive it as "What do you mean you don't want to fuck(reproduce)? Do you think you are too good for [it/me/other person]?"
My old psychiatrist just "diagnosed" me with "hypoactive libido" and I was like fine I guess it's not like the ancient jackass tried to get me into treatment/counseling about it at least. This was around 15 years ago. (Thankfully I have a better, much more open-minded psychiatrist now.)

Really proud of this double cabinet/drawers arrangement. Everything is bolted to the walls for safety, there's braces between the cabinets and drawers and that gap lets me reach the Outlet.

Mom helped me convert the studio closet into a proper storage closet for April Fools!
All of this is recycled wood from my parents various home remodeling projects, and the middle shelf is older than I am. Which means Mom hung onto that board for 35+ years and THREE DIFFERENT HOUSES before it finally saw use today, which has vindicated every instinct we both had about hoarding art and home supplies.
So remember how I mentioned that an artist friend of mine was moving to Santa Fe and wanted to downsize her studio?
I was her unwitting mark.

I used to joke with mom a lot when we bought fabric together that it's fine to hoard it; no worries, I'm going to be happy to inherit it. While I'm unhappy to inherit it because, you know, how inheritance happens (fuck I miss her), I'm not unhappy to rehome it. I'm just... slightly stumped on where to put around 1.5m3 of sewing stuff, mostly fabric.
