After the procedure, looking in the mirror filled me with a feeling I had never known before. Recognition. Finally, when I see myself, I see me. The shiny metal, the rubbery elastomer, the dark lines contouring access panels. The dataports and maintenance ways.
A full chassis swap. The procedure I underwent. It's relatively simple on paper. Just take my Processor, Memory, Storage and a few other components, and move them into a new Case. It's relatively common amongst Androids, Simulacra, Drones, and all manner of other created beings.
I, however, was fully human before undergoing the procedure. Which has lead to some complications. I'm still getting used to the decreased latency. A 3ms difference might not seem like a lot, but compared to the 10ms of my new form, the 13ms of a wetware nervous system seems sluggish.
Usually, you have time to ease yourself into things as your components are gradually replaced, but I took the full conversion as soon as possible.
I just couldn't stand waiting any longer.
The physical therapy has been helpful. Re-learning how to walk, how to grab and hold things. Learning that I don't need to breathe anymore, and how to suppress that instinct to free up the memory for other tasks.
They tried to dissuade me. "You know the process is irreversible, right?" "But won't you miss [INSERT HUMAN TRAIT]?"
I know it's permanent. I know that I won't have these things anymore.
That's the point.
I have fully given up my humanity.
And I have never been happier.
Logically, if you were a trans woman on hormones, you'd grow breasts.
And then many trans women get breast implants.
And yet, even after going through these two things that give you breasts (HRT and Implants), they still only have two breasts, not four!
Someone's skimming off the top. There's some middleman out there with all the spare breasts, I bet.
Never mind that if you’re a trans man, you might get top surgery. So now incorrectly assuming the same number of people do each of these things (to simplify matters), there’s two breasts unaccounted for per binary trans person, not just trans women! That’s a lot of breasts being taken by that middleman! Someone needs to look into this!

And there's presumably at least one trans man out there who got breast augmentation before later getting a double-mastectomy, but the count is still off!
He's got one free set of breasts from his wrong-puberty. Then he gets his breast augmentation (maybe he's thinking that'll help with his chest dysphoria?), and then he realizes he wants a flat chest, and gets a double mastectomy.
So that's +2 (puberty), +2 (implants), and -2 (top surgery), ending up with 0 breasts at the end.
The math doesn't work out. Two breasts are missing. Where did they go?
So I've been playing this Minecraft server with some friends recently, and one of the mods we have on it is this lil computer mod, with these blocks that serve as LUA environments and can have code run on them right
So I thought it'd be a fun change of pace to not 'join the server' directly at all, and exclusively play through remotely controlling these lil computer blocks via a small websocket server I made- seemed like a unique way to play and I, of course, love robot characters. It's been going well so far! Been really fun

I was on the Spirit Halloween website and I will say, a better informed public have really made them pull up their socks in terms of extremely cheap and flimsy historical costume.

I know this is tempting but please don't feed immolationdeer gasoline; the refined hydrocarbons aren't good for them in a metabolic sense and this can really mess them up. Also if they're getting all the refined hydrocarbons they want, they're not eating resinous (mostly coniferous) deadwood off the forest floor and in suburban areas that can meaningfully contribute to wildfires over time. If you really must hand feed immolationdeer in your area because they're so cute and so sweet and you want pictures of you handfeeding wildlife like a Disney princess, consider carrying around fatwood twigs , natural pine resin chunks, or even just paraffin and sawdust based fire starters. These are much closer to their natural diet while still being rich enough to count as treats, and provide much more nutrition.

Being autistic and also a Hyperpop/breakcore/ect enjoyer is really funny bc the sounds of being outside in the real world are often so tiring to me but if I wanna unwind and have a good time I will listen to the the most unnatural noises conjured up by evil computers and specifically designed to make your head explode. awesome
Robot girl who’s defective. She was built for a Function, but despite her best efforts she just can’t fulfill it.
She has a community now. It’s hard, but she’s learning, just maybe, she doesn’t have to have a Function to be worth keeping around. She doesn’t deserve the scrapyard.

The soil testing equipment on Curiosity makes a buzzing noise and the pitch of the noise changes depending on what part of an experiment Curiosity is performing, this is the way Curiosity sings to itself.
So some of the finest minds currently alive decided to take incredibly expensive important scientific equipment and mess with it until they worked out how to move in just the right way to sing Happy Birthday, then someone made a cake on Curiosity’s birthday and took it into Mission control so that a room full of brilliant scientists and engineers could throw a birthday party for a non-autonomous robot 225 million kilometres away and listen to it sing the first ever song sung on Mars*, which was Happy Birthday.
This isn’t a sad story, this a happy story about the ridiculousness of humans and the way we love things. We built a little robot and called it Curiosity and flung it into the star to go and explore places we can’t get to because it’s name is in our nature and then just because we could, we taught it how to sing.
That’s not sad, that’s awesome.
*this is different from the first song ever played on mars (Reach For The Stars by Will.I.Am) which happened the year before, singing is different from playing
