I love evil women

@thechangeling

Fae 🖤 24. they/them. unhinged lesbian. proudly disabled and unapologetically insane. ✌️ Free Palestine 🇵🇸

To all Palestinians sending me asks for donations, I'm very sorry but I cannot donate due to being unemployed. Also I am Disabled and live on social assistance. I will still be reblogging vetted campaigns as well as putting pressure on my government to stop arming Israel, but I cannot give any more donations as I simply don't have enough money.

Thank you for your understanding.

this literally just reminded me to take my meds

man I am still off and on reading up on the history of amphetamine abuse and I cannot emphasize enough how small ADHD doses actually are relative to the historical doses people were slinging around for diets and runny noses, not to mention how non-habit-forming those doses are. Which is good, because they used to pass this shit out to soldiers in candy bars.

Much of the moral panic about ADHD is rooted in the belief that this is the way Big Pharma can still make a profit on fifty, sixty, seventy year old drugs and cash cows, and they're shilling it to children to keep them dependent. Personally, I have always wondered how much of the historical popularity of amphetamines comes down to people with ADHD discovering that the drug helped them in other venues of their lives.

anyway this is a great reminder to go back and read Meth Mania off my to-read list. maybe post an excerpt while I'm at it.

People still tend to lump JK Rowling in with the category of ~problematic artists~ and I need everyone to understand that is not the problem with her. She is not comparable to anyone who wrote a piece of fiction you hate, or someone who made rude comments in 2015 and has since learned better.

She is far more like Elon Musk. She is a radicalized person with an extreme amount of social and financial power, and for YEARS she has been using that power to try to influence her government into hurting vulnerable people, on purpose. And she has succeeded. THAT is the problem with her, and THAT is why spending money on her books is so dangerous, not because her books aged badly.

Critiquing her work is fine, of course (I personally was never a fan so I really don’t care) but you NEED to understand that fiction is not the main issue here. And I truly think acting like she’s the same as the rest of any giant list of ~problematic creators of the week~ waters down how dangerous she is.

shout out to disabled lesbians. shout out to chronically ill lesbians. shout out to lesbians who get tired after one round of sex. shout out to lesbians who can’t handle being overstimulated. shout out to lesbians who don’t, or can’t, have sex often. you are not any less bc you aren’t the energizer bunny when it comes to sex! and let me be clear that there is absolutely nothing wrong with that—this post is not meant to shame anyone with a high sex drive—it is meant to highlight that not everyone has the same capabilities when it comes to having sex (bc I feel like a lot of ppl forget that) and that’s okay!

my timeline on twitter is full of people from gaza saying they're starving. gaza has been deprived of food slowly and strategically for the past 600 days but it has never been like this. even sameer project have said they have not been able to distribute food for the past 3 days. i'm genuinely really scared. i try to give people actionable things to do like donations (which we should all still do) but there actively is not enough food in gaza at this moment even with extreme inflation and it feels like this news is being deliberately buried by mainstream media. it feels like i'm being forced to watch my friends, their parents, their children, people i know, people i'm talking to, waste away right in front of me

@ryn-holt I made a post about my own take on Lestat's bad attitude towards race here, as well as my breakdown of Lestat vs Remmick on "solving" racism here, and I'm curious what your thoughts are! 👉 👈 Because you're so right, there really does need to be a serious conversation, but I see so few people willing to actually engage in one, especially not in the IWTV fandom, and especially not if it's critical of Lestat's behavior towards his Black fledglings.

Personally I hate AI because it uses slave labor, is killing the planet and is making people stupid, but that's just me. The soulless art aspect is just one little piece of my grander disdain.

you don`t get how "i don`t care how brilliant she is" phrase is so deeply important to me cause spike is practically the only character through out the show who openly establishes and admits, to his own displeasure, that buffy summers is a really smart and bright person, who constantly one ups him and leaves him completely astonished by the schemes she so easily pulls off. willow maybe is another character who gets quite close to praising buffy`s intelligence, but she often sounds almost suprised by it, and we know that she likes being the superior one brains wise anyway. but to spike theres no surprise at all, he studied her closely, he sees her, he knows that a quick mind is needed for fighting unpredictable mosnters and you have to think on the spot, mid blow what your next 3 moves should be to not only gain control over the situation, but to use the space for your own advantage and defeat the opponent - and any other person would simply crumble under such pressure (we see everytime with the scoobies when they try to do buffy`s job).

buffy summers IS smart, she IS brilliant, she is the one who comes up with the most successful plans, she is the one on whom people rely (c`mon, wwbd exists because of that), she is able to simultaneously fight and come up with the wittiest and funniest puns - and you need to be quite clever to be this sharp and quick-witted. i wouldn`t even say that she is not booksmart but a street smart, cause under the right circumstances and with the right professors on her favourite topics she has a potential to be willow`s level book smart: we saw it when she got a pretty big score on her final exam at school, she loves poetry and clearly fascinated with language (william, heeeey~)we saw it in wild at hearts when professor walsh wanted her to lead the discussion, willow and buffy even had a bit of debate. she can be it, she just constantly gets discouraged by people in power around her cause they don`t want to give her the benefit of the doubt, cause they only see her as trouble, cause she gets easily distracted, cause they all are prejudiced as hell and don`t want to be proven wrong.

and i think buffy is quite used to such treatment which truly breaks my heart. so to one person to recognise her brillance despite all those obstacles is so incredibly important and touching because he sees her without that judgement and he doesn`t even know the impact he has with that vision of her. and even though he doesn`t say it directly to her and this scene follows by a funny transition (which i also like!), but it is so significant that somebody finally utters such words towards buffy.

"you don't owe anyone anything" You are a tar pit. Speak for yourself. I personally owe the cafe employees my dishes put away and my friends a listening ear and small scared insects a cup and a gentle trip outside. Hyperindividualism is a rancid infection borne of capitalism and willfully misinterpreted therapyspeak and I will defy it by continuing to be kind regardless of whether or not it benefits me personally
