It's very validating because we've been talking about how -especially among the white wlw fandom- white people are so used to seeing themselves everywhere all the time that they cannot even muster interest in non-white characters. They can't relate to them, or so they claim.
We see it in fandom and here's proof of it at industry level.
Reminds me of how that one white boy on All American is the only character I see talked about. The most popular character on Batwoman is Alice. She's literally the only white main character on this show and I think we'd shave off 50-100k viewers without her. There's some shows I only find out seasons in even had Black and poc main characters because I never see content for those characters. The pressure is there for a reason. It's not all on the networks, they want showrunners to do what gets viewers. It's on the viewers.
Anyway, I guess white viewers understand that "representation matters" after all because they will cling to it in rare cases when it is limited for them.

Let's Talk about Korra: from Legend of Korra.
One thing that I've noticed after my recent enjoyment of Avatar the Last Airbender, and Legend of Korra is that Korra gets a lot of hate. And I've never understood why.
Korra's character in the beginning of the show is aggressive, impatient, and short tempered. But she does have some good qualities as well, Korra strives to be the best Avatar she can be. She wants to put the world into balance, and her character flaws do tend to get in the way of pursuing that.
An example of this was when Tarrlok manipulated her into joining the task team against the Equalists by forcing her to say in front of multiple eyewitnesses that she wasn't afraid of Amon. Korra is course around the edges, she's rough on everybody, but she is genuinely a nice person and strives to be better.
We can see her throughout the show to leave her impulses behind, and think rationally before she confronts an antagonist. We can see that in season four when she doesn't want to use the Avatar state as a cheating card to defeat Kuvira. She wants to solve problems by talking through them, instead of shooting, and asking questions later.
She's frequently compared to Aang, and I genuinely think that's unfair, because the characters are vastly different. You can't expect Korra to act like her past Avatar, it's like expecting Steven Universe to act like Rose Quartz or Pink Diamond. Their both different. Steven isn't his mom, just like Korra isn't Aang.
In my opinion, and you're entitled to your own opinion. I think that there is a feeling of nostalgia around Aang, so original fans expect Korra to act like him. But if Korra was exactly like Aang wouldn't that take the originality away from his character? If she was just like him, there would be no depth to her and the show would have anything new. Copy and pasting old characters and putting them in another takes away the originality, it makes the show, book, or movie bland and stale. That's why Korra isn't like Aang, if she was just like him. If Korra had the same qualities as Aang, wouldn't that make her predictable?
There's so much to unpack from Korra's character, but the main one in this post is the CONSTANT comparison that she gets from Aang. Many fans complain that she isn't Aang... because she isn't Aang. Korra was never supposed to be Aang to begin with. Do you like Korra? Hate her? Make sure to leave a comment to let me know.
-了解-
toph了解自己。
我了解toph的历史。
边画边在想的碎碎念(就是在乱七八糟毫无逻辑的讲,可以忽略):
这可能是我乱逛,意识到墙上有画,于是打算看看,抬头被惊到的画面
左边的toph是在遇到小队之前的toph,右边则是遇到之后,我很喜欢大家转过头的样子;
底下都画上了翅膀,但是其实两边是不一样的:我想表达的是左边是飞猪家族标志,而右边是toph自己的翅膀;
toph对我来讲有太多和我相似的地方,所以我会经常画这个角色的同人。有时候我并不太分得清,我到底是在了解toph还是在了解我自己;
- understanding -
Toph knows himself.
I know the history of Toph.
3. Something that you are thinking about while drawing (that is, in a chaotic and illogical way, can be ignored) :
This could be me wandering around, realizing there's a painting on the wall, looking at it, looking up and being surprised
The toph on the left is before meeting the team, and the Toph on the right is after meeting the team. I love the way everyone turns their heads.
There are wings on the bottom, but in fact the two sides are different. I want to express that the left side is the symbol of flying pig family, while the right side is Toph's own wings.
Toph has a lot in common with me, so I often draw fans of the character. Sometimes I can't quite tell whether I'm learning about Toph or myself;
But AFTER all, I am the second creator, and my understanding of her is based on my own feelings. The real Toph only exists in the release of official animations and comics, and she is just a new character borrowed from her appearance. What I know about Toph is only what I want to know, or a part of my ability to understand the scope of Toph.
,,,,, thanks to the original author for bringing this work, I will have different feelings every time, let me have such a deep resonance...
Come on founder/king of Athens, aren’t u gonna slay the Bull of Minos or not?
