not weird at all, howlers are high art. imagine a letter screaming at you in public. performance theatre. humiliation as a service.

best one was a howler that just opened, sighed dramatically, and said, “i’m not even mad. just disappointed.” (hint: it was addressed tooooooo.....starts with j and ends with ames potter)

hi ema it’s the anon with all the hogwarts questions 🙈 i have yet another. this is a real and serious question. this is something i was thinking about a lot the last time i watched harry potter. ok so hogwarts is HUGE. like huge huge huge. but it doesn’t seem like there’s many students. like in the first film when they’re doing the sorting ceremony, there’s barely any kids there. and then they’re being split up into 4. so how many students per year group? and is it equal? or is there like tons of gryffindors and barely any ravenclaws? even tho the great hall is big, if there’s 7 year groups then surely they can’t all fit in there. also when it comes to classes, is it all the gryffindors with all the slytherins or is there too many so they’d have to split it into groups. so you’d have a class with group 1 gryffindor with group 2 slytherin or something. i’m rambling so sorry if it makes no sense i was just thinking about what i’d wanna script, it just looks like there’s barely any students. unless different ages have dinner at different times or something. anyway thank u😭😭😭😭😭🫠

this is actually a real question. like a serious academic inquiry. i have written deranged notes about this exact thing.

SO. yes, hogwarts is way too big for the number of students shown in the movies. like, we’re talking a literal castle with towering corridors, massive empty spaces, secret passages, and like, four kids per house per year??? be so real.

in my dr, it’s waayyy more logical. each year group is around 100-120 students total, which is 30ish per house. it’s still not a huge school, but it makes way more sense when you think about dormitories, classes, and how the great hall actually needs to be that big. and no, it’s not always an even split. some years will have more ravenclaws, some will have barely any hufflepuffs. the sorting hat doesn’t do quotas.

for classes, it’s definitely split. not every gryffindor is taking potions with every slytherin. it’s in groups, so like, you might have charms with half the ravenclaws, and transfiguration with a different mix of hufflepuffs. this also explains why some people barely know kids in other houses. if you never have class with them, they’re just random faces in the halls. (excluding social butterflies and intermixed groups)

the great hall does fit everyone, but it’s packed, and people get territorial about their spots. you’d think house tables are just casual seating? BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ. people have their assigned unassigned seats and if you sit in the wrong place, prepare for glares.

and i love the idea of different year groups eating at different times, but it doesn’t happen. mealtime is chaos and prefects (like me that one time) are one bad day away from walking out forever.

[༉‧₊˚.] a tv where you appear in your favourite movies as your dr self. for example, if you have a marvel dr you can watch the mcu with your marvel dr self in it.

[༉‧₊˚.] you have all the video games, movies, tv shows, etc that are hard to find on streaming services, are expensive or not out yet.

[༉‧₊˚.] multiple separate books for each dr with photos of you and your friends.

[༉‧₊˚.] if you have tiktok on your phone, script that your for you page is filled with edits of you in your different drs.

[༉‧₊˚.] an ocean nearby with clear water where you can breathe underwater and it’s filled with all types of sea creatures, the dangerous ones can’t hurt you. you could even script you turn into a mermaid.

[༉‧₊˚.] tomodachi life on the switch… PLEASE I NEED IT!!

[༉‧₊˚.] a room with your comfort character or comfort person who you can vent to about all your cr and dr problems, where they give you good feedback and comfort you.

[༉‧₊˚.] any pets that aren’t real or dangeroushere like stitch, gizmo, bibble, fennec foxes or those really cute realistic plushies you see on pinterest.

[༉‧₊˚.] another tv related one where if a movie is bad or if the characters did something stupid you can change the plot with your remote like a choose your own adventure video game.

[༉‧₊˚.] a search bar on your computer where if you want a certain genre of a movie, tv show, video game, music, etc you type it in and it immediately comes up with recommendations.

[༉‧₊˚.] a mailbox where you can get letters from your friends, family and your love interest in your different drs.

[༉‧₊˚.] you can draw and paint in every style so you can practice and when you come back to your cr it will be easier to draw different styles, hands, bodies, etc.

a word between worlds, my dreamland is my main reality. it's the place i will shift to first and my intention is to permashift here, for it to be like a home base kinda thing. i will shift from here to my drs, then back until i shift again.

i called it my dreamland because i don't reallyyyy like the term waiting room, wtf am i waiting for? waiting rooms are miserable and i'm having the time of my life. i literally have dreamed of living a life like this since i was little, it's just so comforting.
