oh x-men for sure. i talk about x-men any and every chance i get, i wrote an essay on it last semester that my professor said i could turn into a thesis (and i highly considered it), i got one friend into x-men and have been planning to get multiple others to watch it with me, and i have another friend who is a fan who i've had over to rewatch the movies and give commentary on them. the x-men brainrot is crazy and has not really died down at all since it started in august lmao

if you dyed your hair, what color: so I had my hair died a few years back, and I can't remember the specific color, but it was a gorgeous red (as a redhead who hated her hair growing up, and then it turned a sort of mousey brown and I want it back to red, this was amazing for me). once I ditch the chemo peach-fuzz and get real hair again, I'll probably go for that color again! 😁

German shepherds. We had them when I was growing up and they were so loyal and protective, and they just have the softest hearts. One of them (Jake) used to sleep by my bed every night after I woke up screaming about a spider one time. He took it as his duty to protect me from eight-legged intruders after that 🖤

Um... I don't really know. I like the black and white ones but I don't think they're a specific breed!

We have newts in our pond that are fun to watch - I name them all Isaac Newton 🍎🦎

I've dyed my hair lots of times - I'm not sure I actually know what my natural colour is now (probably grey 🤣). I've been brown, dark brown, golden brown, burgundy, ginger (I actually loved this colour!), and now I'm between dark blonde and light brown. If I was really brave I'd go back to ginger, but I doubt I will.

do you guys think merry’s arm injury from stabbing the witch king ended up having a permanent impact on him?? like for example, like frodo’s morgul wound, he feels the misery and the pain in his arm plaguing him close to the anniversary it happened. i know there’s no evidence this happened and frodo was actually impaled by the blade which caused far more damage but given how supernatural and evil it all is i always thought it could be possible

uhhh more of my thoughts about pippin because i am still trying to get the hang of tumblr!!
we often see pippin being, as gandalf puts it, a “fool of a took.” he acts before he thinks, he’s incredibly reckless, and often too curious for his own good, leading to a good chunk of the fandom to the belief that he’s unserious and just likes to muck about.
of course he likes to muck about — he’s not even an adult yet. but that’s not all there is to him.
pippin has always known the severity of the journey he was on. he knew the power of the ring, he knew he was supposed to be going to mordor, he knew he was constantly risking his life alongside his friends and experienced that several times. he watched frodo nearly succumb to a morgul wound, he had merry run to him after he had nearly been taken by a ringwraith, he watched boromir die, he was abducted and abused by uruk-hai for several days. so why was he so careless on one too many occasions?
the answer is simple. he was scared.
he was terrified. who wouldn’t be if they were on a mission like that, especially given his age, his inexperience, his immaturity? he wanted to be there to support his friends; he was an incredibly loyal person. so, unconsciously, his mind downplays what he knows to be true. his mind downplays the danger, the severity, the risk, because it’s the only way to make him feel safe. it’s the only way to comfort his young mind during the scariest, most traumatic, and most uncomfortable time of his short life.
that is why he drops the pebble in the well in moria — childish curiosity comforts him in a dark and dangerous place he was unfamiliar with. that is why he touches the palantír — he is frustrated that gandalf refuses to tell him what it exactly is, and it triggers that desperation to know for his own comfort, to get rid of the terrifying mysteriousness.
