Gonna lift the veil behind dev processes for a sec: part of the reason bottoming is so common for player characters (especially with male LIs) is because everybody's got a hole, and that makes it easier to reuse text. That's definitely not the only reason, or even the main reason, but it is there.
That said, the only character we can say with 100% certainty will be topping in any possible NSFW scenes would be Cirrus. Every other character has more flexibility, which opens up more possibilities. If we do NSFW scenes, I'll definitely be looking at my options to add some variety.
