quick linguistic history lesson. the term “woke” originates from african american communities to describe being “awake and aware” of the current sociopolitical climate. this term has been used since at least the 1930s. it wasnt until 2014 during the ferguson protests that the term entered the wider vernacular. mainly as a result of black twitter. and as is common with many things coined by the black community. it was repeated and commercialized to death to the point where now most people only using it mockingly. including people on the left. the point is. “woke” is not a bad word. the alt right wants it to be one.

a few pngs I made of some vintage aquamice, I did NOT know how many companies made these just to be promotional material! Wish companies did this more still, this is like 10x better than getting an okay pen

free to use ofc, credit if you wanna :3

Something I found hilarious the other day was seeing one of those “I bought this before Elon Musk went insane” bumper stickers, except it wasn’t on a Tesla. It was on the most beat up 20+ year old Toyota Corolla I’ve ever seen that was missing three hubcaps and had no less than seven different dents in the rear bumper. yeah I do not doubt that you bought that one before musk went insane

I feel uneasy

forget what you saw

I admit, I hadn't really considered that a knock on of an expensive nintendo console pricing people out would be a diehard subset of nintendo fans interrogating people about why they can't find the money to spare

the problem with "games were always this price in the past and people still bought them" as an argument is that a lot of people didn't buy them at that price, and that's the group you're speaking to

slightly more serious less flippant version of my post from yesterday: whether you ar doing so from a point of pro- or anti- nintendo or video games it is so silly to talk about whether 'video games are more expensive now' 'video games have always been this expensive' when what you're talking about is exclusively big-money titles that you're buying on release day at full price. that's not "video games". that's "video games made for current-gen hardware by activision/nintendo/EA/etc". its like saying "Movies nowadays all have Iron Man in them"

many of the best video games of all time are made by one weird trans girl and available for free Free on itch.io. many more are made by two autistic finnish guys and available on steam for like $10. the "video gamse used to be even more expensive adjusting for inflation" thing is only true about usamerican kids who were playing the new nintendos at the time, to me as a kid "video games" were like ~$8 from a guy with a cd burner or when i was slightly older like $20 for three from the second-hand ps2 games bin. like its like when people make sweeping statments on Movies and they exclusively mean the MCU. get some fuckin perspective on the medium god damn

i have deep self harm scars on my arm and they have healed along with me and I would love to depict Salem/my fursonas with it more visibly (like healed but the scarring is there) but the fact people think it's ok to trigger warning what is essentially bodies of real people especially disabled/mentally ill people make me unreasonably violent.

i think it's extremely fucking ableist to put warnings on disabled and physically scarred people. i don't even know why this has to be said. you cannot be a leftist and advocate for disability rights when you only mean autism that's manageable and quirky and then get grossed out by physically disabled bodies. seriously, knock that shit off.

Being insane but cognitively aware of how insane you are is a special kind of hell because you know that you aren't normal and you can pinpoint the behaviors that label you as other and make people kinda go quiet and twitchy around you but you can't change them or your neurosis so you're stuck in a brutal cycle of trying to emulate normal people and failing horribly cus you know in theory how normal people look and act but in practice you can never change what you are and everyone else knows it too and this goes on forever until you die
