Meryl Streep Movies vs Donald Trump Movies

Meryl Streep and Donald Trump might be the two greatest thespians of the last 40 years.  You would think Donald Trump would be happy with sharing that title. I am more interested in the politics involved than the movies.

What a shrewd political move by Streep! She put herself at the head of the anti-Trump parade. She wants that fourth Oscar that would tie her with Hepburn bad, and what a good move to get it. With all the Trump haters in Hollywood I would think she has to be the favorite right now.

And Trump played right into her hands by tweeting that she was “overrated.” I am certain that the Hollywood Dems are just salivating over the chance to sock it to Trump by voting her best actress.

The thought has occurred to me that maybe everyone is barking up the wrong tree in thinking it is Putin who has compromising info on Trump. It more likely is Streep off his silly and in her interest reaction. My guess is she’ll blackmail him into continuing his anti-Streep tweets right up until they open the envelop and announce her victory.

(Okay, I am being facetious, but why can’t I have some fun with nutty political speculation. Is that reserved for journalists?)

    1. Hey John…..not thinking no matter what she does….that 4th Oscar is not coming this year….Emma Stone…is going to take that home…..Streep will of course get her 20th nomination….but that will be her reward this year. I just hope when Trump becomes President he will put away his Twitter account…I am actually surprised his account has not been hacked yet….lol

You have an interesting Streep for Four conspiracy theory….and yes you can have fun…..which is what I was doing with this page…..which….when I do a real comparison….I have actually liked how they turned out….now I am thinking of other matchups….Gable vs Wayne, Grant vs Stewart, Tracy vs Gable…..they are fun to look at….and on my end…I can generate a new page in about 10 minutes. As always…thanks for your comments.

  2. She made some very valid points in her speech, about mocking people who can’t defend themselves. But I think she let herself down by demeaning MMA fighters in the same breath as condemning Trump for all of his disparaging comments about different groups in America.
Nevertheless the woman is a legend and no one can take that away from her, not even a Trump tweet.

    1. Hey Chris…..the Streep/Trump mess seems so unnecessary. I can’t believe Trump has nothing better to do than watching the Golden Globes and feeling he has to trash Streep. On the grand scheme of things….certainly something else is more important than a Lifetime Golden Globe Award speech.

This might sound like I do not like Trump….that is far from the truth….I am willing to give the man a chance…..and if he falls on his face….he can be voted out…..but I do wish he would give up his Twitter account. As always…I appreciate your visit and the comment.

    1. Hey Laurent…thanks…the Trump/Streep fight got me thinking about a page that looked at their movie careers…which got me to do a few “real looks” at some of the greats…like Joan vs Bette and Kelly vs Astaire….so it actually got some more pages on the website….thank you Donald and Meryl….lol.

  3. Whaaat? I didn’t even know Trump appeared in any movies. 🙂

The closest he got to beating Streep on these charts was at adjusted box office, Home Alone 2 (was he in that?) coming second to Streep’s Kramer vs Kramer.

    1. Hey Steve….well if this was a fight…Streep would have knocked out Trump cold in about 30 seconds…..just felt like being a little silly….after Trump came out saying that Streep was an overrated actress. Not saying if I support or do not support Trump…..but I would like the soon to be President of the United States….to stop using twitter like a pre-teen kid. As always….thanks for the comment and the visit.

  4. Funny page. So Streep has 37 of their Top 40. I do not know I am still undecided. Never underestimate Trump. Best Supporting Actor nomination coming for Snowden? Heck I did not even know he was in that one. 🙂 🙂 🙂

    1. Hey SteinHOF….I do not want to go out on a limb here…..but I think Streep has Trump beaten here….granted we are still waiting for Michigan to finish their counting. I like you did not realize he was in Snowden. Just checked and Trump is listed as Longshot when looking at the Best Supporting Actor nominee predictions…lol. Thanks for checking out this silly page.
