Merge

[edit]

Thank you for your work in maintaining Wikidata. I have a small suggestion to improve your future work. If you notice that two items are duplicates, please merge them instead of blanking one of them as you did with the item Q124519071. External sites use Wikidata identifiers, so it is important that we preserve the chain of references. We do this by making one item a redirect for the other. In particular, item ids are intended to be a permanent identifier, so we never reuse them for another concept. See Help:Merge for more information on how to merge items, and consider installing the Merge Gadget. Thanks!  Madamebiblio (talk) 17:04, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Madamebiblio - thank you very much for your note. I really appreciate it. I actually have the merge gadget installed and I've used it before. For some reason it didn't work properly today (possibly an unstable internet connection) and I panicked a little bit and wasn't sure what to do. Now I know! :-) Your point about item ids being unique identifiers that are not recycled/reused is very enlightening, particularly in this context. I will keep this in mind next time I find myself in a situation that involves duplicate items. Thanks again! -- ToniSant (talk) 17:14, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Bloat Drone (Q124354653)

[edit]

Hi i noticed you used audio track (Q7302866) on this item. Audio track is specifically meant for non-music which is not the case here Trade (talk) 14:30, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing this out to me, @Trade. I'll make sure to use this more appropriately going forward.-- ToniSant (talk) 20:20, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have split up the song into four different items which is how songs are supposed to be modeled.

For the two last items i recommend using the Multi-track Drafting--Trade (talk) 18:58, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
