The dilapidated farm which was owned by a Finnish man convicted of drowning two people and trying to kill another three is for sale on an auction website.
Early last year, the Eastern Finland Court of Appeal upheld a 14.5-year prison sentence imposed Pekka Seppänen for manslaughter and attempted manslaughter.
The sentence was previously handed down in 2017, after he was found guilty on two counts of manslaughter and three of attempted manslaughter.
The original ruling found that in 2007, 2010 and 2011 Seppänen had taken people out on the lake in his boat, capsized it knowing they were weak swimmers and that they were drunk, and swam ashore.
One person died in the 2010 boating incident and another met a similar fate in 2011.
The buildings, located in the municipality of Kontiolahti in North Karelia on just under 12 hectares of land, are in poor condition. The property features a wooden house, a barn, sauna building and a small shed. The property does not have running water or a sewage system, according to the auction listing.

Seppänen was ordered to pay the victims of his crimes, as well as their relatives and others, a total of about 130,000 euros. Another of the killer’s properties, located in North Karelia’s Tohmajärvi municipality, was also seized and put on auction to put towards the compensation he owes the victims and their relatives. While there is no minimum reserve price for the auction, the bailiff in charge of the sale has the right to accept or reject the highest bid when the auction ends, according to the auction site.
The auction for the Kontiolahti property closes on 20 February.
