Strikes planned by food industry workers have been called off after workers and employers groups agreed to a settlement proposed by the National Conciliator's Office.
The conciliator's office announced the development on social media platform X on Monday.
It said that the Food Workers' Union (SEL) and employers group the Food and Drink Industries' Federation (ETL) had settled their labour dispute after agreeing to a proposal submitted by the conciliator on Sunday.
This means that a warning for a new strike among bakery workers that was set to start on Tuesday has been canceled, as will planned work stoppages in other sectors after the Easter holiday, according to the conciliator's office.
Before reaching the agreement this week, SEL and ETL had been locked in negotiations for months over five separate collective agreements for the bakery, meat, dairy, industry and brewing and soft drinks sectors.
The negotiations affected the wages and working conditions of approximately 25,000 workers.
ETL spokesperson Anne Somer said she was pleased that an agreement had finally been reached.
