President Sauli Niinistö has attended a meeting of the cabinet committee on foreign and security policy for the first time since taking office. The committee is to give instructions on how to deal with cyber attacks and data security.

Niinistö noted the work of the committee on Finland's national cyber security strategy was still in the making, but he believed it would be ready by the set deadline of 2015.
The committee also discussed preparations for the Seoul Nuclear Security Summit to be held later this month. President Niinistö will participate in the summit.
