On Friday, the Cabinet Committee on Foreign and Security Policy adopted Finland’s Action Plan for Afghanistan. The plan solidifies Finland’s commitment to reconstruction efforts in Afghanistan over the coming years.

The plan will now be sent to Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee. Last year, Parliament demanded that government issue more accurate plans on Finland’s future role in Afghanistan.

"Finland makes sustained efforts to reach its objectives through development cooperation, humanitarian aid and military and civil crisis management," states the report.

The plan outlines Finland’s participation in action coordinated by the UN in cooperation with other donors and international actors.
