Hurskainen will take part in a meeting of the Presidium of the 47-nation body on Wednesday and Thursday, and during that meeting the group will visit the head of the Catholic Church in the Vatican.

Hurskainen has drafted two reports to the Parliamentary Assembly about relations between religions.

Established in 1949, the Council of Europe is the continent’s oldest and most extensive organisation of political cooperation and human rights. The Parliamentary Assembly, comprising members of the parliaments of member states, makes initiatives and recommendations for the Ministerial Committee.
