The fund raising programme is run by YLE's charitable foundation and will continue until the end of the year.

This year a number of other charitable organisations participated in the fund raising drive, including UNICEF in Finland, Finn Church Aid, the Finnish Red Cross, Save the Children, Fida International, Plan Finland Foundation (Plan Suomi Säätiö), The Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Mission, The Trade Union Solidarity Centre of Finland, and the International Solidarity Foundation.

Most of the proceeds of the campaign will go to Africa to be used in projects where children will be the main beneficiaries, such as developing educational and health care facilities and enhancing the status of the family.
