Finnish auto tyre manufacturer Nokia Tyres plans to cut some 120 jobs at its production facility in Nokia.
The company announced Tuesday that the number of redundancies could escalate to 200 if outsourced workers are included in the tally.
The company said the job cuts were caused by a transition to a continuous triple-shift system, which made outsourced labour redundant.
Meanwhile Fiskars, Finland’s design consumer products company, announced the end of consultative talks aimed at reducing the workforce at its Billsnäs garden tools plant in Raasepori.
Nearly 70 of the company’s 400-odd jobs will be cut, some of them through retirement attrition.
Fiskars said the job cuts will provide greater flexibility to respond to seasonal changes and to meet the requirements of international markets.
