The board of the Transport Workers Union (AKT) is due to meet in an extraordinary council meeting Thursday to consider the findings of auditors concerning a rental agreement finalized by union chief Timo Räty.

Räty had signed a lifetime rental agreement for his secretary and her mother in a union-owned flat. The AKT council has estimated that the rental agreement has cost the union some 400,000 euros.

In March the council decided to temporarily relieve Räty of his duties as union head during the official enquiry into the housing deal.

The trade unionist has also been accused of work safety infringements and psychological abuse. Prosecutors are considering charges following a police investigation into those claims.
