An extraordinary meeting of the Transport Worker’s union’s council voted unanimously to remove Timo Räty from his post as chair.

The union’s auditors found that Räty had rented out the apartment to his secretary and her mother for the rest of their lives.

The auditors found the contract detrimental to the union, and causing damages amounting to some 400,000 euros.

Räty had been suspended from his duties pending a decision from prosecutors on allegations of psychological abuse in the workplace.
