Finland remains most expensive eurozone country

Finland is the most expensive country in the eurozone, reports the EU data agency Eurostat. Only data connection service rates are below the EU average. Finland is also the fifth most expensive country in Europe.

According to Eurostat, prices in Finland last year were 25 percent above the EU average.

For example, restaurant and hotel prices in Finland were 30 percent above the EU average with clothes some 20 percent higher in price than elsewhere in the EU.

Switzerland is the most expensive nation in Europe followed by Norway, Denmark and Sweden. The cheapest EU nations were Bulgaria, Albania and Macedonia.

Eurostat, in co-operation with Statistics Finland, compared data on prices from 27 countries.
