Pori Jazz ticket sales slow, Paloma Faith concert cancelled

Organisers of Finland's west-coast jazz festival are struggling to meet sales targets and have cancelled one show as crowds fail to flock to Pori.

Some 30,000 advance tickets have been sold, much lower than recent years’ figures.

Despite the shortfall, organisers are confident they will meet the targets of 50,000 advance ticket sales and 140,000 visitors. The late announcement of headline acts and tough competition for corporate ticket sales have been blamed for the sluggish business.

British singer Paloma Faith is to miss out on her planned trip to the western Finnish port city, with logistical reasons given for her absence. Ticket-holders will be able to swap their tickets for another show at the same Kirjurinluoto stage.
