Batman film marketing campaign scaled down in Finland

Almost the entire marketing campaign of the new Batman film has been suspended in Finland following the deadly shooting incident in Denver, USA. F-S Film, which distributes the movie in Finland, said it had cancelled its entire internet campaign.

“We had a massive internet campaign extending to a commercial television website, Spotify and the Irc gallery. Now, no advertisements are visible,” explained Jojo Uimonen, marketing director of FS.Film.

TV spots have also been withdrawn around news broadcasts. However, the press campaign is continuing.

Marketing of the Batman film "The Dark Knight Rises" has been suspended at least over the weekend. The campaign was expected to last until next week.

The film receives its Finnish premiere on Friday. No showings will be cancelled, though.

According to the AP news agency, the Paris premiere of the movie has been cancelled following the shooting in Denver. Early Friday, a masked gunman killed at least 14 people at a packed midnight showing of the film in the city.
