Tampere hosts Red Hot Chili Peppers concert

Eager fans gathered at the Ratina stadium in Tampere on Wednesday for a performance by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Organisers anticipated a crowd of some 30,000 people, half of whom from outside the Tampere region.

A few tickets remained for the gig on Wednesday with prices ranging from 20 to 70 euros apiece.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers took to the stage around 8.30 p.m. Prior to this, fans were treated to appearances by Finnish band Poets of the Fall and British band The Vaccines.

Some roads and bridges in Tampere were subject to closures on Wednesday due to the gig.
