A high point of this year's Helsinki Pride week, the annual parade, was seen in the capital Saturday with participants including the American ambassador to Finland, Bruce Oreck, Sports and Culture Minister Paavo Arhinmäki, and Minority Ombudsman Eeva Biaudet.

The colourful procession made its way from the Senate Square, down Aleksanterinkatu street, and along the city's main thoroughfare, Mannerheimintie to Hakasalmi park, the site of an afternoon festival.
Organizers estimated that around 7,000 people took part.
The week-long series of events celebrating sexual diversity wraps up on Sunday.
