Wahlström dominated Natalia Vanesa del Valle Aguirre from Argentina in the World Boxing Council championship fight, earning a unanimous decision from the judges.

The boxer was over the moon: “It feels unreal. I’m afraid I’ll wake up from this ‘dream’ of mine. It must be fifteen years ago when I was told that I’d become the first Finnish world champion. 'No way', I said at that time," a moved Wahlström told MTV sports after her victory.

Meanwhile, Edis Tatli, a Kosovo-born Finnish boxer, won the European lightweight boxing title at Helsinki Arena on Saturday, defeating the Frenchman Yvan Mendy in a full 12-round face-off.
