If Insurance Company plans to eliminate 89 workers

The If P&C Insurance Company has announced it will enter employer-employee negotiations and said it plans to decrease its staff by a maximum of 89 workers.

If P&C Insurance Company, commonly known as If, announced Wednesday that it will begin negotiations with about 212 of its employees in order to reduce staff by up to 89 people.

The reasons behind the planned layoffs at If, which is a division of Sampo Group, are plans to increase automated services, and its web and telephone services, it wrote in a press release.

The company said it aims to avoid dismissals.

The number of employees at If P&C Insurance Company in Finland is about 1,730 people.

As of June 2015 the Nordic If P&C Insurance Group employed a total of 6,190.
