Teen singer Isac Elliot breaks into U.S. market

Chart-topping Finnish teen vocalist Isac Elliot sang for a TV audience of five million Americans last week when he appeared on NBC’s Today Show. In an appearance on Yle’s morning programme Thursday, Elliot said his performance on the show opened doors for him in the North American market. He starts a two-week tour spanning several US cities on Monday.

Finnish pop singer Isac Elliot Lundén, professionally known as Isac Elliot, released his debut album Wake Up World in 2013. It peaked at number one on the Finnish albums chart later that same year. His second album, Follow Me, hit the market a year later, with chart success in Finland and Norway.

His latest success was an appearance last week on the Today Show, a popular US morning programme. He talked about signing for an audience of five million in an interview with the Finnish Broadcasting Company Yle on Thursday morning.

“Sure I was a bit nervous, but it was really cool,” Elliot said.

Two-week tour starts Monday

He sang his new song ”What About Me” for his multi-million-strong American audience, and as an exception, a small group of his US fans were allowed to be present in the studio during the broadcast.

“The Today Show gig opened up a lot of doors for me. I look forward to my upcoming tour of US cities,” he said.

His two-week tour begins on Monday in Florida, where he will appear on various cities’ morning TV and radio programmes and perform at department stores.

Elliot told Yle that he is also working on a new album, after a two-year break. He has performances scheduled in Finland, Norway and Estonia in the near future.

“I’m really happy that my fans have supported me. I’ve received a lot of great feedback. I’m really grateful to everyone,” the singer said.

The 15-year-old Elliot also briefly discussed another important choice he must consider soon: which upper secondary school he will enrol in.
