A total of 87 employees staged a walkout at all eight of the Osuuspankki (OP) bank offices in the Kymenlaakso area at 12 pm today Friday.

The walkout is in protest of the bank's intended co-determination negotiations, which target a maximum of 25 bank employees. The same talks also aim to shut down the Myllykoski and Kuusankoski OP offices in the city of Kouvola.

"This is illegal industrial action," says OP's Kymenlaakso CEO Juha Korhonen. "The employer has little to say on the matter."

Korhonen says the offices will be open normally on Monday.
