A woman born in 1975 was sentenced to three years in prison while a man born in 1987 was sentenced to two years and six months for aggravated deprivation of liberty. The woman was also found guilty of fraud and using false personal information.
The couple hid a small boy for more than a year in Tampere and other municipalities. The boy, who had been missing for over a year, was found in July 2016 at a Tampere cottage dressed as a girl.
Continuation of other criminal case
Hiding the child was the continuation of a criminal case in which the boy's father was convicted in March 2015 of aggravated human trafficking. The victim of the aggravated human trafficking was the boy's mother, who was deprived of her freedom for several years.
In captivity, the young woman gave birth to three children. The boy dressed as a girl was the oldest of her three children. The father had hidden the boy before he was caught at the end of 2014.
The woman convicted on Friday belongs to the boy's father's close circle of acquaintances. She was once married to him and separated from him seven years ago.
The convicted man in the ruling on Friday is the convicted woman's current partner.
