The first Finnish tax refunds from the 2022 tax year are to be paid on Monday 3 July. More than 191,000 recipients are included in this round of payments, and they're due to receive a total sum of 189 million euros.
According to Chief Inspector Juha Villman from the Finnish Tax Agency, taxpayers should note that the tax refunds may not be immediately visible in the morning. Villman reassured the public that payments will be processed throughout the day and advised against any concerns if the funds are not visible in the morning.
In addition to the tax refunds, Monday also marks the deadline for taxpayers to settle their back taxes from the 2022 tax year. Approximately 83,000 individuals have back taxes to pay by Monday.
The remaining tax refunds and outstanding tax payments will be disbursed in the following months, with the final payments scheduled for December.
The date for one's tax return or residual tax payment can be checked on the OmaVero online service.
