The month of March was milder than usual throughout Finland, the Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) reported on Tuesday.
In a large part of the country, the average temperature was 1.5 to 3 degrees Celsius higher in March than the month's average between 1991 and 2020.
March of 2022 was similarly mild, according to the FMI.
The average temperature for the month ranged from around one degree Celsius in southwestern Finland to about six degrees Celsius below freezing in northern Lapland.
Meteorologists recorded the month's highest temperature of 13.1 degrees in Jomala, Åland Islands, on 30 March.
The lowest temperature of the month — minus 31 degrees Celsius — was meanwhile measured in the village of Tulppio in the municipality of Savukoski in Lapland on 25 March.
Precipitation during the month was close to average.
Monday, meanwhile, broke this spring's temperature record to date, with the mercury rising to 17.7 degrees Celsius at Helsinki Airport on 1 April.
