This coming weekend could be an excellent opportunity to observe the Geminid meteor shower, an annual display that is regarded as one of the more reliable meteor showers.
There could be as many as 70 meteors per hour in the skies over Finland, and the best time to see them will be in the early hours of the morning.
However a full moon this weekend, along with a forecast of clouds and rain, could hamper visibility.
The shower is likely to be accompanied by several bright meteors, with some of the shooting stars taking on a yellowish hue.
Meteor showers form when cosmic debris enters the earth's atmosphere, burning up and creating the appearance of so-called "shooting stars".
