Livrenblog

(Find me at 50 Watts Books.)

Welcome to the incredible world of LIVRENBLOG.

Livrenblog focuses on French artists and writers from 1890 to 1913. Aging Naturalists, drugged Symbolists, snotty Decadents, titanic Moralists, and other mustachioed Freaks viciously duke it out on the streets of Paris via a lively, ephemeral independent press.

Many writers I cover here come up again and again: Alfred Jarry, Marcel Schwob, Jules Renard, and recent pin-up Leon Bloy. Even if you don't know French, visit for more images like the ones in this post.

You won't see these forgotten treasures anywhere else.
