2018 queer film challenge | 01: queer essentials #1
to sum this film up in one word: wow! it’s got stunning visuals, evocative poetry in lieu of dialogue, and some of the most raw and emotional depictions of gayness (notably black gayness) i’ve seen in a movie. the story covers a lot of ground given the short run time and has quite a poignant ending. watching this made me feel much the same way i felt when watching born in flames… like i was experiencing something truly revolutionary.
what a way to start this challenge off!

ooo yikes, i really fell of the bandwagon on this challenge :/ i'm gonna get back into the swing of things in the next few weeks hopefully now that my life has calmed down somewhat.
Anyway. yorkie and kelly invented lesbian/bi solidarity and gay marriage and then perfected them both & this made my cry like a baby in starbucks while i watched it (and now every time i hear heaven is a place on earth i'm going to sob, Thanks Lads)
