This film would be an easy 10/10 without the epilogue... I read a bit about the history this film is based upon, and the implication of placing this character as a concentration camp survivor and that these brutalist buildings were based upon Concentration Camps. Leaving out this epilogue and its strange additions to this story, plus the rather odd mood and tone switch, would have left this film off much better.

There are very few good things I feel I can say about this film:
1. The visuals during the creation sequence were well done, but outside of the cool subjective shots, felt like it was recycling the spectacle from the first installment.
2. The sequence of him and the blind man was actually quite powerful, it got me liking the movie far more than I was before.
3. The acting by Boris Karloff and Ernist Thesiger was really good.

To be apt, this movie didn’t take itself too seriously and was successfully pretty funny. However, the progression of the story and the twists were uninteresting and the dialogue was horrendous.
There was some very good directing and shots - there’s one specific shot utilizing police lights and tree branches that was MWAH. And some of the direction of the horror, in terms of suspense, was really powerful.
It was still hard to like The Monkey too much as it didn’t set a solid tone for itself and simply wasn’t good enough in all facets to make me that intrigued at what it was presenting.
