  The prevailing online criticism of Sultburn is that it is a generic, soft-touch critique of class, and a predictable - bordering on unworthy - addition to the Eat the Rich genre. That many, if not all, of these critical reviews are coming from heterosexual men is of no surprise; how could they understand Saltburn the way that we do? What do they know of female desire?

  Charles Melton is the hypnotic center point of this film; the gravity that settles all of its parts into horrific formation. 

  His portrayal of trauma is delicate and understated - a child trapped within a man trapped within a life he could not consent to. The slow unravelling of a victim who is only beginning to understand their victimisation; I believed every second of it.
