Lame villains with an implausible and stupid scheme, namely in the overkill in resources and exposure expended to sneak a bag through a TSA checkpoint (something something Russia…) but mainly the overly serious buzz kill tone sucks out all the room for fun, unless you really love Jason Bateman blathering in a very sinister voice for nearly two hours.

I'm sure this hits different if you're a Kevin Smith super fan, but for me this was Smith's 2 hour long film version of the social media trend where people post pictures of themselves trying to pose as they were in a 30 year old photo. Just incredibly depressing.

Top Gun Maverick is very transparently about Tom Cruise getting older but still being extremely cool, and it rocks.

Also we need more movies starting with a message from the star actor thanking the audience for being there.
