Poignant depiction of society’s obsession with hypermasculinity and its impact amongst gay and queer men. The performances by both leads are masterful, with nuances and complexities that approach the storyline with impressive authenticity.
It’s depressing how much we idolize macho toxic traits, even today. Both Jules and Preston show us the weight of such from opposite sides.

I guess there’s lots of mixed reviews. But I was pleasantly tense for 85% of it.
Love seeing a cast of quality newcomers. Especially Isabel Merced’s character development.
Love Alvarez’ ballsiness to go all the way with the gore and fucked-up excessiveness. I heard the hybrid creature was not popular amongst the producers lol…HATE the AI and desperate need to bring familiar faces. Completely ruined what could’ve been a nearly-perfect film. Still, the best entry in a while with fresh blood and beautiful moments.
