Beautiful. Life-affirming. Funny. Sad. Absurd. Random strangers connecting through the world of GTA Online, being open with each other, being vulnerable. They don’t know each other, yet they keep coming back to be a part of this weird project. A one of a kind mixed media production adapting Shakespeare‘s Hamlet completely in a video game environment. With COVID and lockdowns still rampant it beautifully captures the isolation and anxiety so many experienced during the pandemic. My favorite part is the scene…

    The Electric State

    ★★

Sure, characters and narrative are pretty bland - especially Chris Pratt phones it in with his brave and lovable doofus craving recognition Star Lord persona bordering on self-parody - but The Electric State still offers a resonating brother-sister-relationship and a few interesting, creative ideas in the robot world. Not enough to save the film, but it’s far from this catastrophe everyone makes it out to be.

When our protagonist, a small-time crook and thief trying to live an honest life, gets mixed up with this soldier…

One of the biggest cinematic disappointments I've ever experienced in my life. With an average rating of 4.0 I thought it'd be a safe bet that I like this movie, but the reality couldn't be further away from that.

About 23 minutes in I wished it would end, but it just kept going on for what felt like an eternity. The set-pieces and costumes look like a one-to-one copy from 1984 and the like. The first half of the movie…
