This movie continues to be criminally underrated. Obviously some of the 2003 humor doesn't hold up, but the rest of it is just so fun, funny, and cute.
A great buddy movie. A great meta-comedy about Hollywood. I know it's not a Robert Altman level film but sometimes you just want a Sunday morning smile without all the anxiety of something more refined / challenging.
Also, so many great one liners!
A tragedy and a triumph, bastards brutalizing babes. So many characters in this film are passing their torment on to others like a baton, just lusting after some piece of momentary respite. It's a horrible little oroborus with a little light on the marble at the end.
The main acts were a landmark, particularly on this budget, but the epilogue felt like such a massive tone shift that I'm not sure what the point in including it was.
Man, do I miss intermissions!
