  Classic Netflix move to spend the last year and hundreds of millions of dollars pushing a shitty Oscar bait movie just to quietly follow it up with one of their all time greatest original anything’s with almost no advertising. Really heavy stuff and really masterfully done across the board, feels like it never has to explain anything and yet nothing feels unsaid by the end.

  Just a brutally boring 3 hour movie, if you ever wondered what watching a propaganda film is like, you should watch this movie. Even if you disagree, I can’t imagine someone watching this and being like “this is why I’m proud to be an American,” like most of the cool action scenes is just showing someone’s real life great grand dad getting blown to smithereens, it doesn’t really treat Pearl Harbor with a ton of dignity, like the only redeeming…

  Haven’t seen this movie in years, while I pretty much remembered all of it, it also feels like a first watch, I must’ve been in high school when I first saw it. The main thing I didn’t remember was Emily Blunts role in the story, which watching the movie now it makes sense why I didn’t remember it, she has no agency over this mission and she’s only included for diplomatic purposes and to cut through the red tape simply…
